The Words by the Water Festival of Words and Ideas returns to Theatre by the Lake on Wednesday June 5th.

Returning with a packed programme of talks, workshops, theatre and music. Always challenging and thought-provoking and with plenty of opportunities for discussion and debate, what can be better than 5 days with some of the best thinkers, writers and commentators in the country in one of the most beautifully-situated theatres?

Events will be held for five days, including Sunday June 9th.

Prior to the main festival, there’s also a wonderful appetiser when much-loved author Alexander McCall Smith takes centre stage in an afternoon event on the 10th of May. There will be the opportunity to meet Alexander after his event when he will be signing books and chatting to his many fans.
