Music for a Summer Evening

Burneside Brass Band

Tuesday 18th June 7:30 pm

This nationally graded 4th section brass band plays at various indoor and outdoor events and will provide a varied programme to suit all tastes.


Encore Opera

Tuesday 25th June 7:30 pm

Encore Opera makes a welcome return to our concert series. The group of 9 musicians will perform operatic music sung and acted with skill and enthusiasm.


Clerical Errors

Tuesday 2nd July 7:30 pm

Musical Ministers and Vocal Vicars join with friends to present an eclectic repertoire of classical, folk and contemporary music performed on piano, flute and guitar.


Manchester Chorale

Saturday 6th July 7:30 pm

A welcome return of this outstanding Choir which has become one of the best-known names in the Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year Competition with regular appearances in the final stages of the competition.


Flute Fiesta – David Edmonds, flute Charles Edmondson, piano

Tuesday 9th July 7:30 pm

Two well-known local musicians, David and Charles made a welcome return here in 2023. Their programme this year will feature the theme: ‘A Song and a Dance’.


Herdwyck Consort

Tuesday 16th July 7:30 pm

8 singers from all around Cumbria perform music inspired by Summer: light classics and favourite part songs, interspersed with a little sacred music for the Church’s seasonal festivals.

The Consort has a wide-ranging repertoire but specialises in music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It performs much of its music unaccompanied but also collaborates with other musicians on a regular basis.


Rombalds Recorders

Tuesday 23rd July 7:30 pm

This wonderful Recorder orchestra of 26 musicians will delight you with their music played on a wide range of recorders, some 5 feet or more tall. The society came together in 2016 to rehearse and perform recorder music dating from the Renaissance period to the present day.

Please Note: Entry to the concerts is free but there will be a voluntary collection in aid of the Church, local and national charities.

  • 2.00pm: Resident Student String Quartets performing extracts from Beethoven’s Op.18
  • 7:30pm: Alkyona String Quartet & Jess Dandy (contralto)
