Summer of Play

Allan Bank, Grasmere

Home > Lake District Events > Summer of Play

Make the most of summer with fun outdoor and indoor creative activities at Allan Bank.

The gardens and woodland grounds offer space for children to play and get close to nature.

The woodland with its rugged paths, tunnel and hidden viewing spots makes for a mini-adventure come rain or shine.

On the lawns the whole family can get involved in traditional games such as croquet, bean bag throw and hoopla.

Indoors you can get creative with nature inspired craft activities in the art room, read a book from the second hand book shop, play a board game or play a tune on the piano!

Glimpse into the past through a display of holiday watercolours and photographs from the Rawnsley’s who once lived in the house. You can have a go at painting your own watercolour in the art room.

Bring a picnic to eat on the lawn or indoors while you enjoy views over Grasmere. Refill your water bottle or help yourself to tea and coffee while the kids relax and play.
