Get fit, make friends, and enjoy the scenery. Organised by friendly volunteers, the Rothay Park 5k parkrun is open to all abilities and ages and takes place every Saturday morning at 9 am (just make sure you’re registered and bring a scannable barcode).
Taking in three flat laps around the edge of Rothay Park and Miller Field, with lovely views of the surrounding fells to treat your eyes on the way around, the course is a mixture of concrete and grass paths – it can sometimes get a bit muddy, so make sure you wear suitable footwear. And when your run is done, you’re welcome to join the organisers and other runners for a well-earned brew at a local coffee shop.
A few things to note:
- Please arrive on foot if you can as parking is limited.
- Children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or appropriate adult.
- You’re welcome to run with one dog on a short, non-extendable lead.
- Always give way to other park visitors.
