An annual work review that goes horribly wrong.

Head of Department Nicky wants to get on with her job, but her boss Jo has other ideas. He has a plan and thinks she is going to like it…

A two-hander dark comedy, Appraisal is a power play of manipulation, subtext and subterfuge, exploring the explosive consequences that can arise out of a seemingly innocent conversation, achieving 5* reviews and sold out performances at Edinburgh Festival and Adelaide Fringe, where it also won a Best Theatre Award.

The 2023 Edinburgh run garnered multiple award nominations from OffFest and Dark Chat including Best Play, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Show.

Appraisal is the latest play by sitcom veteran (BBC’s The Brittas EmpireTim Marriott who will perform alongside Angela Bull, recently seen in ITV’s Coronation Street and DI Ray.

★★★★ “A classically structured two-hander that captures the unjustifiable, often unaccountable, behavior enabled by office hierarchies that wouldn’t be tolerated anywhere else” – The Scotsman

★★★★★ “A maze of twists and turns with humorous, dramatic punch” – Edinburgh Guide
