Bringing Festive Joy and Lights to the Community and Visitors alike

Activities included:

  1. Father Christmas Cruises
  2. Community stalls and live music in the Market Cross shopping area
  3. A festive atmosphere around the town
  4. A family fun zone in the area near the school
  5. The Lantern Procession & Switch-on
  6. Santa arrives
  7. The fireworks display

Every year on the third Saturday in November, the people of Ambleside parade through the town at dusk, carrying hundreds of paper lanterns.

The entire event is funded by donations from local businesses, collections on the day and fundraising events during the year. Without these, the event simply wouldn’t go ahead. It is also becoming increasingly costly to stage the event so please drop some coins in a bucket or donate via this link.
