This was the 3rd time my wife and myself have stayed at Wendin Cottage and each time our stay was perfect. Wendin Cottage is a beautiful cosy cottage perfect for couples. The location is great for exploring Ambleside and surrounding areas. We will be back, in fact, we have already booked for 2025

Lovely stay at Wendin cottage. It’s a small cottage , but perfectly formed! It has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The drying cabinet is especially handy after wet days in the Lakes! Very good location for the town and we didn’t find a problem with the parking. Would definitely recommend.

We previously stayed at Wendin Cottage 2 years ago an absolutely loved it. We came back for a week for our honeymoon, this time with our 9 month old labrador. Once again, the cottage was fantastic, this time with a newly refurbished bathroom. The bed is extremely comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the sofas are comfy and the drying cabinet in the outhouse is essential for any wet weather walking. We love this little cottage and it is the perfect place to explore Ambleside and the surrounding fells.

We had a lovely time in the Lakes, thanks in part to Michelle's lovely cottage. The place was very clean, and while they accept animals there was no trace of pet hair or anything. That's saying something as my wife's allergies react to most airbnb's! The cottage as a whole was a gorgeous escape and we hope to return soon!

What can we say… such a beautiful cottage that we’d be proud to call our own. Cosy and warm and we felt right at home. The ability to walk straight out onto the fells from the house was brilliant. Great location for all of Ambleside, which is full of lovely shops and great pubs and restaurants. We cannot wait to book this adorable cottage again.

This our third time at the cottage and weren’t disappointed. It is quite small but has everything we needed.
The kitchen is well appointed. My only gripe would be the height of the cooker hood as it corresponds with my head. The sitting area is compact but for a couple it is fine and the smart TV is a plus. We used the wood burner most nights but it doesn’t provide a huge heat.
Upstairs is the lovely bathroom and there is enough space in the bedroom for our belongings. The bed I found was also very comfortable.
With the wet weather the drying cabinet in the outhouse was great and well used..
Unfortunately the cottage doesn’t appear to be available for our intended holiday next December but I’m sure we’ll be back at some point.

Although Wendin Cottage is small, even tiny, it is very well presented and is equipped to a very high standard. There was nothing I needed that wasn't there. The large bed is very comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom have high quality modern fittings and appliances. I had no difficulty parking my Mini estate, but guests with a large car might find the approach and parking rather tight.

We stayed here with our dog and highly recommend. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed throughout the week - the drying cabinet in the outhouse was great after a few rainy walks. The cottage is also only a 5/10 minute walk from the centre of Ambleside so you have great access to the range of shops and restaurants. Overall we had a great week at Wendin Cottage and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a great base in Ambleside.

This property was immaculate throughout and in a perfect location to walk into town. It was beautifully clean and well decorated and had absolutely everything we needed. I feel I need to give a special mention to the bath, it was amazing. We had a lovely stay here and would not hesitate to recommend the accommodation to others, you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely stay in Wendin Cottage. This place perfectly suited our weeks holiday up in the Lakes, a great location with everything we needed. The little extra on arrival was a special touch, and the drying cupboard a godsend for after a wet walk. 10/10, would stay again.

Beautiful, cosy cottage just a 2 minute walk from Ambleside village centre. Easy communication from the host and extremely fast responses. We arrived to a lovely bottle of wine on the table and found the folder full of instructions for each appliance extremely helpful. The drying cupboard in the outdoor building was extremely helpful after all our long rainy walks. Perfect location for meals out and amazing walks. Loved every moment. We have recommended the cottage to lots of people already. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The "Wendy Cottage" was clean, compact, well presented with good modern kitchen facilties. Location was a short walk into the town of Ambleside and a good location to base yourself for the Lake District. I had a very enjoyable holiday.

This is the second time we have stayed here and fell back in love when we opened the door. Lovely house, perfect for me, my partner and our dog. Had an amazing relaxing holiday, can do many a walk from the doorstep and a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants. The spa bath being the highlight of my stay! Prosecco and cake left for our arrival was a lovely touch. Would undoubtedly stay again.

We've just got home from an amazing week away in Wendin Cottage. It has been the most perfect little base for our week exploring the Lakes ticking off Wainwrights. Everything was just spot on. From the lovely bottle of wine for when we arrived to the super convenient drying cabinet which was extremely helpful. The spa bath was also a popular one with my girlfriend who was in need of some recovery after our walks. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and we slept amazingly all week. The location was perfect with just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside and great access to the lovely local pubs. We have absolutely loved this place and we can't wait to come back.

Wendin Cottage was the perfect base for us to explore the Lake District from. The space was clean and comfortable, set in a very quiet area just up the road from Ambleside which is a lovely town with every amenity we needed. The kitchen was fitted and stocked with all the basics needed to cook at home (although you won't run out of great places to eat out in town!), and the bed was very comfy after days of walking around the Lakes. We loved our stay and couldn't recommend Wendin more highly.

We are part way through our week in this lovely cottage . It has absolutely everything you could need and is ideal for a couple . We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this is such good value . Brilliant location - very very quiet but an easy 5 min walk into Ambleside with all the bars & restaurants. So impressed we have just booked it for another week in June

Location is exellent, a short walk to the lake and the many pubs, restaurants, cafes. The accomodation is small but perfectly fine for a couple. Nice bonus of a Spa bath which we used a lot; very relaxing after a day out. Thoroughly recomended for sure.

A lovely little stay on the outskirts of Ambleside. The property had everything you need for a week away and more, most notably a spa bath and hot box to dry clothes. A short walk into the town and picturesque walks from your door, I would highly recommend this property.

Wendin Cottage is a rare gem that has everything you need for a stay in the Lakes. Really central, with parking and modern interior but loads of character too. Particularly liked the courtyard for al fresco dining. If youre a couple looking for a great base, this is perfect.

Just returned from a wonderful week in the Wendin Cottage, it is charming inside with all the amenities listed, It is very small but ideal for a couple and a dog there is a small parking space out the front the whole place was spotlessly clean in an excellent location.One Direction will take you into the town and the other direction will take it to the lake all very easy to walk .Would definitely recommend this property and will definitely stay again could not Fort Lakeland Retreats they were absolutely excellent from start to finish
