A CENTRALLY BASED RETREAT WITH A BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF AMBLESIDE

The Viewpoint offers just that, a perfect 180-degree view across the slate-covered rooftops of Ambleside towards St. Mary’s steeple and the majestic mountain range beyond. This vibrant village is popular with visitors of all ages and interests; outdoor enthusiasts will marvel at the wide choice of low and high-level walks and varied cycle routes to be enjoyed right from the door and a wealth of waterborne activities that take place beside or on Lake Windermere herself.

Elevated above the village, perch yourself in the window seat of the lounge and gaze down on the comings and goings below, the streets lined with a wide selection of shops, galleries, cafes and bars and one or two newly opened fine dining establishments for that special occasion dinner.

We had a great time and felt at home. The view from the window looking over the town was extra special. Bedrooms were comfy and everything nice and clean.

We had a lovely time. Right in the heart of Ambleside and yet lovely and peaceful. There are a lot of stairs to get to the property so would be tricky for anyone with mobility issues.

Perfect location, so close to everything you need. The parking situation was slightly frustrating as there was never any parking up the hill, we had to park at a car park around the corner which was only inconvenient when we had to unload and load the cars. Other than that, the place was lovely, perfect for a short stay.

Overall, lovely accommodation, with stunning views from most of the flat's windows. Excellent central location for exploring local towns and villages, such as Bowness, Hawkshead and Grasmere. Easy check-in process, with plenty of information available on arrival. We really enjoyed our stay, and, unless bothered by what should be easily correctable minor issues, such as a lack of privacy window blind or a properly functioning toilet seat in the bathroom, and absent WiFi coverage in the lounge, this is an excellent place to stay for those looking for an Ambleside holiday break.

The views alone sell this place. Just incredible! The kitchen was really well equipped and the appliances were all really good - which was important to us as we ate in 50% of the time. Everything was very clean. We had a problem with the WiFi which couldn’t be fixed when we were there, but not for lack of trying by the team looking after us. We have been told it’ll be fixed very soon though (it works but it just didn’t reach the living area well, and we needed to do some work). We can’t wait for our return in December.

Near perfect place to stay as long as you're happy with going up and down stairs. It's a great location in the middle of Ambleside with easy access to pubs and restaurants. Parking arrangement worked really well for us either just leaving car parked for the day or leaving in the morning and returning in the evening (I can believe finding an empty space in the middle of the day in peak season might be a bit of a challenge). The accommodation is really good and has character (just like the pictures). If I was being really picky the shower (electric) and wifi (router at far end of building) are both a bit feeble. But they do the job and certainly wouldn't put me off booking again. Over all we really liked the place and had a great time.

This rooftop place was perfectly located for an excellent week away. My husband and I were able to get out and walk in the mountains all day while my elderly parents were able to leisurely move around the A as well as Ambleside without having to have their own transport. They used the bus service from there and were able to get supplies from the local Tesco just up the road. It is a very well kitted out place, warm, cosy, homely and very, very comfortable. I highly recommend this place and would very happily return and stay there if we were ever to go up the Lake District again. Michelle was easy to communicate with - the directions, parking, keys and all instructions to enable our stay to go seamlessly were very well shared and accurate. A brilliant experience from beginning to end. Thank you.

Excellent place to stay in Ambleside. Beautiful views and a real feeling of being in a quintessential old English village. . Very comfortable place, warm, cosy and well equipped. Perfectly located within Ambleside with grocery stores, close pubs and coffee shops within walking distance away. One could use the bus or have your own car and drive from there. Highly recommended. I would go back there and stay there without hesitation.

A clean house, cozy, well equipped. Was slightly difficult to find the flat but the hosts were easily contactable. You have to climb many outdoor stairs to get there, the view was worth it. Tv isn’t smart but had all the channels. Easy check-in and check out. All in all a good stay. Thank you

We had a lovely stay at Viewpoint apartment in Ambleside. It was well furnished and equipped, cozy and comfortable, with amazing views over Ambleside and the surrounding hills and mountains. The views are more than enough reason to stay at the Viewpoint! It is very centrally located, with a great selection of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Despite the mixed weather, we managed to do some great walks, all starting off in Ambleside. We will certainly stay at the Viewpoint again and look forward to coming back to Ambleside soon!

Viewpoint is a great place to stay in the Lakes. Great location in Ambleside with everything on your doorstep. Nice pubs, restaurants, shops and amazing views throughout the whole apartment. Viewpoint is a big space and well designed to comfortably accommodate 4 adults. As well as a great location for amenities, there's all the breathtaking mountain walks of the lake district within 10 mins drive. We will be back to Viewpoint for sure. Thanks Michelle for a great stay.

Smart apartment in a great location near the center of Ambleside. Lovely views over the town towards the mountains. Permit parking in local car parks occasionally difficult at peak times, but ok in the evenings and mornings. We had a great time in perfect weather. Climbed Helvellyn for the first time, and did lots of paddleboarding in Windermere and Grasmere.

We’ve just returned from our wonderful stay at the Viewpoint. It is a fantastic apartment, with stunning views on all sides. The apartment is spacious, but with a cosy feel. It has a very sociable layout and a cute window seat. Be prepared to climb a few stairs to get to it, but it’s definitely worth it. The apartment is in a great location, just a few steps from the town Centre, where you can find all the bars, cafes and shops. The apartment comes with a parking permit, which is very helpful. The carpark is a couple of minutes walk to the flat and usually has spaces. We would definitely recommend booking the viewpoint!

The flat is in a terrific location, minutes walk to everything in Ambleside and an ideal base for adventuring round the lake district, the shared courtyard at the front catches the sun nicely with a pleasant view over the town. The check in is all self serve so the only contact with the (host) agency was when we needed an issue addressing, outside of this the communication was clear and concise with a very smooth check-in.

We had a great week in Ambleside, and the apartment is in a fantastic location in the heart of the town. The accommodation has everything you need for a lovely time, and is a large space for you to relax after exploring the local area. I would definitely recommend this flat to other people looking to stay in Ambleside.
