Amazing property, parking wasn’t overly clear in the dark but we did arrive late and in awful weather. Listing advertised as having EV charging, but be this appeared to be PAYG and not included in the price. All in all a lovely stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Immaculate. Great location. Attention to detail with the bottle of Prosecco, milk, 'Spa' soap/shower gel etc, 'Method' disinfectant (no cheap stuff), bathrobes, spa slippers, dishwasher tabs, 'Method' washing up liquid, bin liners etc. I think they've thought of everything to make everyone's stay comfortable and hassle free. They leave you a little book which has some local walks from the cottage. We walked to Orrest Head (scenic route) and then into Windermere/Bowness. It is no more than a half hour drive to Grasmere/Ambleside. Look up free parking in these places! Because Windermere was on the way, we just stopped off at Booths each day to get groceries. We will definately stay again. Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The Nook cottage was so cosy and had everything included that we needed. We loved the chairs and the fireplace and enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable, we slept really well. Woke up refreshed. Very quiet surroundings. Easy to get to Windermere, 10 mins in a taxi or a lovely 30 mins walk. Good walks around the estate. Would 100% book again!

Absolutely perfect.
We have just returned from a fantastic stay at The Nook. The Scandinavian style and modern interior were exceptional, providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The accommodation was impeccably clean, and the location and setting were wonderful. Having breakfast on the patio with the sound of the fountain in the background was simply idyllic. The grounds are immaculate, and the e-charging facilities made our stay even more convenient. The nearby Watermill offered excellent food and a microbrewery, and the walk to Windermere took only 25 minutes. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible – thank you for a perfect stay.

Lovely property in private grounds. private parking & flexible checkin. Spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons. Open plan kitchen & living area with double doors onto private patio. Narrow staircase up to a roomy bedroom with plenty of storage. Upstairs loo & basin & wet room downstairs off the livingroom. would have preffered upstairs shower but no problem with the wet room, roomy, spotless & towelling robes to hide modesty when moving back upstairs. A walk into town could take 20/30 minutes with a few hills, so if not very mobile would recommend a car into town. Very responsive host. Lovely stay. Thanks

It was a beautiful cottage in a calm and relaxing location, rural but close to the amenities, The cottage was cosy, comfortable and well equipped. I had an amazing weekend added to by a Marriage proposal and a sparkly ring. I would have liked to have stayed longer, maybe a month!

It was the best weekend. It was my birthday and I went with my friend of over 50 years. We had a fantastic time. So relaxing. The accommodation was gorgeous inside and out. Everything you could need for a weekend away. I picked Nook specially because of the two armchairs and I can honestly say - after sitting in them all weekend - how comfortable they were. By far the best birthday I have had in a long time.

The Nook is located on a beautiful estate just a few minutes east of Windermere...perfect base for exploring the Lake District. The apartment is cozy and decorated to a high standard. Host was always responsive and very accommodating when we asked about an earlier check in time.

Location and quality of the Nook are amazing. The only downside for us was people being really loud outside after midnight and then all the alarms going off around 3am...the fire engine coming out and didnt get back to bed til 4am, because someone in thr "big house' decided to make burgers at 3am. Whilst I appreciate people are here for a lovely time, its upsetting to have part of it ruined by other peoples selfishness. There were people staying that had babies and we were all standing outside. That said, The Heaning Estate is amazing and I think its the only place we would stay now.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Nook. It was a treat away while the grandparents looked after our daughter and everything was perfect. The accommodation was beautiful, the finishing and furniture of a really high standard and the little added treats were a real bonus particularly the copy of Wainwrights pictorial guide to inspire some walks.

We had the most amazing stay at The Nook Cottage - Heaning estate. Having done my research before we booked I knew this was going to be somewhere special and we were not disappointed! The cottage was perfect and everything was in pristine condition. They have thought about everything, from the welcome bottle of Prosecco to the fresh milk in the fridge and the locally produced soap. I cannot fault this place at all. The location is perfect, close enough to everything but out the way. We definitely recommend dinner at Gilpin Spice but you need to book well in advanced. A walk up to Helvellyn and a drive along Wrynose Pass (if you dare). Mini cabs into Bowness are £10 if you fancied a few drinks or the local Chinese (magic wok) were very good for a take away. All in all a perfect trip and we will definitely be back.

We have just got back from a lovely 3 night stay at The Nook. We have had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and had everything that we needed and more. The bedroom was my favourite part of the cottage as the bed was so comfortable, we both have never had such a good sleep! Windermere and Bowness were both less than an hour walk away from the cottage and the cottage is situated in a location which is easily accessible to other towns by car such as Ambleside and Kendal. The cottage was extremely clean and well presented and the wet room was something we absolutely loved as we have never seen one before! This property is grossly understated. It is perfectly equipped and full of all essential equipment needed for a self catering break. Located approximately 1.5 miles outside of Windermere and 6.5 miles from Ambleside the location is perfect for those guests who enjoy brief walks into the village centres to avoid the traffic and parking issues that would arise at peak season times. The grounds to the property are privately shared between the cottages and houses available to rent and parking is ample. The ground floor is accessed from a shared vestibule leading to your own private secured entrance. On entering the property you face the winding staircase leading up to the spacious bedroom and toilet area. The ground floor comprises open plan diner, kitchen and lounge area with a separate door leading to a wet room with drench shower and hand held shower unit. The kitchen has a gas stove, fridge with small freezer compartment, 4 piece cutlery set, utensils, dish washer, dining service set etc. It was short of nothing! There is also an additional counter top freezer in the storage area along with cleaning utensils. The property is immaculately clean with modern decor. We would definitely book here again.

What a Fabulous place this is. My husband and I needed to have a few days away and this was the perfect place to escape too. We stayed in the Nook cottage and as soon as you walk through the door, it is so welcoming and cosy. The cottage is lovely, bed is huge and the place was spotless and clean. There are a few touches that make it homely. We look forward to coming back next year and staying for longer.

This was our second stay at The Nook and it was just as good as we remembered it! A wonderfully cosy cottage in a gorgeous location. This time we visited with our 4-month old so staying somewhere warm and clean was so important as well as a bit of luxury for us to enjoy once the little one was asleep! Gorgeous property set in the most beautiful surroundings. It is the perfect location as it's set out in the countryside so its lovely and quiet with some nice walks on the doorstep, but then 5 minutes drive away and you're in Windermere. A great base to start for exploring all that the Lake District has to offer, then this property lovely to come back to at the end of a long day as it's so cosy! We would 100% recommend this property to anybody and would not hesitate to book for ourselves again

Wow! What a stunning little cottage on the edge of Windermere. This luxurious one bedroom cottage on a country estate exceeded our expectations for our staycation honeymoon. The Nook provides a tradition Lake District cottage feel with a contemporary edge. It is in the perfect location if you would like to be away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere and Bowness yet still within a 20 minute walk. The house was spotless on arrival and we were provided will all the information needed for our week stay. We have already agreed it is a destination we will return to!

Beautiful location, the little terrace was delightful to catch the afternoon sun! Best shower we've ever used after lots of hiking and the bed was brilliant. Lovely little touches and a self-catering with a kitchen that is actually really functional! Would recommend hiring kayaks on ullswater from the sailing club on a sunny day.

A beautiful spot near Windermere, with easy access to hiking and walking (even in the rain). Accommodation was just the right size for 2 of us; clean, cosy and warm, with pretty much everything you could need. The porch area for coats and muddy boots was super useful! We cannot recommend the Nook enough! It is such a beautiful location and the property is so well manicured inside and outside. The short walk/drive into Windermere is a bonus and there are plenty of helpful tips left by the owners for areas to explore. The property is so cosy, furnished to an excellent standard, and truly feels like home. Gerry and Michelle really made it feel like Christmas with the nice added touch of a Christmas tree. The entire stay was the peaceful rest we needed after long days exploring the Lakes.
