A SECLUDED, PEACEFUL HAVEN FOR TWO, AND YOUR DOG

Tucked away to the back of the site, The Courtyard is blessed with its own allocated parking space and courtyard style garden set against a rocky outcrop of the fell where the sun hits from lunchtime until the early hours of the evening.

A side entrance leads into the modern, enclosed porch style conservatory with comfy seating and hanging space for wet weather gear. Through to the main accommodation with hard floors throughout comprising a cosy snug with leather corner sofa and SMART TV.

The dining area is set around an electric, stove effect fire and is just off the fitted kitchen where you’ll find an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

A neat bathroom has a shower, hand basin, WC, and heated towel rail. The bedroom has a large Kingsize bed with a large window with original shutters. A second seating area is located on the first-floor mezzanine, an area to sit, relax and enjoy your latest novel with a cuppa.

It was a beautiful cottage, with ample space for two people and a dog and all of the necessary facilities in a great location. I received good communication with Lakeland Properties with simple and easy to follow instructions on how to get to the place and enter.

Nice courtyard with plenty of afternoon sun, plenty of nice walks but be prepared to walk up the hilly long drive each time to the apartment, nice welcome bottle of Prosecco on our arrival

We really enjoyed our stay at the courtyard. It is a perfect base for exploring many areas of the Lake District. The property is around 25mins walk into Ambelside which is the nearest place with any amenities. We actually enjoyed this walk and liked the peace that the courtyard offered. It is quite a small property but ideal for 2 people with a dog and the conservatory was so so useful to put wet coats and shoes and all the clutter you have with a dog. The outside space is shared with another property but we never found that an issue. The property is well equipped and has most things you would need.

The flat is in a lovely location with walks straight onto the fell. The flat itself was very cold upon arrival and took a whole day to get warm and would have been nicer if the heating had been turned on earlier as I suspect it had not been inhabited for a while. Flat was not as clean as I would have liked with huge cobwebs in various corners and sticky kitchen surfaces. Very private flat as there were no other inhabitants of the remaining flats. Saw a deer in the grounds one morning which was lovely.

Loved our stay here! 3 nights with our dog, front garden enclosed so we could let him out without worrying he’ll be running off! House well equipped with everything you need (utensils, plates and cutlery etc) Cosy living room favourite place to unwind after a day walking around! Plenty of lovely walks so close by, we never walked into Ambleside only drove but was a quick drive straight into the centre If we are to comeback here I will definitely be rebooking Thank you!!

A wonderful little apartment with everything you need for a great stay. Each morning you feel like you’re waking up in the tree canopy which is a lovely feeling. The apartment itself is relatively basic but with it being in the perfect location to explore this isn’t an issue. We had a wonderful cosy stay with our pup who loved his first holiday. You can access a lovely walk from the apartment that offers amazing views over lake Windermere relatively quickly. The only issue we had was on one night when the sound insulation from the upstairs flat was an issue. Michelle was more than happy to help us out with this though and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

Had a lovely 4 night stay with our dog. Place is small, but ok for 2 people with small dog, with all the things available you would need. Great location for exploring the surrounding Ambleside area on foot, and within easy driving distance of other beautiful Lake District locations. The property was easy to find and easily accessible with parking space available, courtyard was nicely maintained with closed gate which was secure for the dog. Overall we have a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend.

This place is in a great location. Just 2 minute drive into Ambleside. The grounds surrounding the property are quite nice and the garden outside of the room was perfect to let our dog out. Overall the room is very pet friendly and he enjoyed it as well. It is definitely a place to have a good starting point to explore the lakes.

Fantastic location, it’s 5 minutes drive to Ambleside and you are located in the quiet countryside right next to a path that will take you into the hills. We took our dog and it’s perfect, it’s extremely cosy, has everything you need and plenty of outside space for the dog. Great communication and we will 100% book again.

We had a great stay in The Courtyard. Everything is perfect. It is a warm place, decorated with care where it is good to return after beautiful hikes in this superb region. Our dog was welcome and it was very important to us. Thank you also for the kind attention found on our arrival. We recommend this rental ideally placed to discover the region.

The location of the Courtyard could really not be any better! A short walk into the centre of Ambleside but positioned rurally with some great walks and stunning views from the doorstep. The walk to the rear of the property up to the top of the fell is well worth the climb for the stunning views! We walked to and from the centre of town by day and by night - the torches provided by our hosts plus some reflective strips were all we needed to feel safe doing so. The courtyard is very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering walking holiday in the lakes. There’s even a washing machine which was a bonus after some of our muddier walks. TV reception wasn’t great but there were books, board games and DVDs which we supplemented by visiting local charity shops! The bed is super comfortable but you may be wise to bring an eye mask to help block out light if you’re a light sleeper like me! Our small dog loved the space including the grounds too. The dog friendly touches in the cottage as well as the dog friendliness of Ambleside more generally was really welcome! All in all, a lovely holiday in the Lakes!

The courtyard is a cosy little place with all the essentials you need. Our dog absolutely loved running around in the courtyard with next doors dog too. You can walk into Ambleside which is a lovely 25 min walk but wouldn’t suggest walking back after dark as there isn’t any street lights. Location of the property is good as you get the best of both worlds - close enough to a town but still far enough away that you’re able to enjoy the remoteness of the Lake District.

Nice place, ideal for dog owners. There is a fenced courtyard that is also the entrance to the flat. Perfect for walking as there is a footpath from the flat to the fell avoiding the road. Beautiful location with lots of walks from the flat and near by.

Lovely location, well equipped kitchen, maps, 2 t.v’s and nice doggie treats and welcome pack. The sun trap courtyard is communal but lovely neighbours and dog. Big garden to get our dog out first thing in morning and last thing at night. The garden room was really useful for dog bowl, coat, boots etc even with us having wall to wall sunshine. Plenty of space for 2 and our dog.

The house is just perfect and was such a great base for our holiday. With Chesters just down the road and Ambleside being 2 minutes away. It was also lovely and clean and had all of the basics so that you can arrive and settle straight in and enjoy your holiday. It was our dogs first holiday but she settled in straight away too :) I would definitely recommend this house.

I loved this little flat and will definitely stay here again. It was just right for me and my dog and is a comfortable size for a couple. Gorgeous views just a few minutes away and easy access to walks. The flat had everything I needed and the snug was really cosy in the evenings. The sun hits the courtyard seating area in the evening and I can imagine this would be the perfect place to sit out in the evenings (when it’s a bit warmer!!). The coffee machine was a pleasant surprise!

The Courtyard is a lovely spot to enjoy the Lakes and a perfect size for a couple. Despite us having to rebook a number of times due to COVID restrictions, the host couldn't be more accommodating. It was our first time visiting the area and the walk up to Loughrigg Fell which started just behind the house was a perfect first hike. If you don't have a car it is a bit of a walk to Ambleside but in no way unmanageable - just be aware that there isn't a pavement all the way and you do have to walk on the road at some points. If this isn't an issue that it is a lovely place to stay to enjoy Cumbria

The perfect spot for a walking retreat. It’s tucked away and feels very private, but only a 20 mins walk into Ambleside town centre where there’s plenty of shops and pubs. And a short drive to top walking spots like Scafell Pike. The big sofa to stretch out on after a long day of walking is perfect and the bed is super comfy. There is a kitchen well-stocked with utensils if you want to cook and nice touches like board games and bowls for the dog. And you can sit out in the courtyard when the sun goes down. The two of us and our spaniel a wonderful time!

Lovely apartment in an excellent location in Ambleside. Super comfy bed and very quiet despite being next to other apartments. Decor is a bit outdated but we don’t mind one bit when you’re spending most of your time outdoors in the lakes! The hosts left us some kind little treats on arrival and communication was swift and helpful.
