THE BOATHOUSE, THE JEWEL IN PULLWOOD BAY’S CROWN

From the ground floor, the entrance leads into the boathouse wet dock (available to use as you wish but at your own risk) and a flight of stairs leads you up to the main accommodation on the first floor. A spacious hallway teases you with glimpses of the view that’s just around the corner and leads into the open plan living space, a modern-day lounge, dining room and kitchen of the quality you’d expect of such a unique property. The large expanse of floor to ceiling doors open fully onto and over the water, the narrow viewing platform allowing you to absorb yourself in the beauty of your surroundings. A twin bedroom (super king available upon request) is beautifully decorated and has an en-suite shower with a corner cubicle, handbasin and WC.

A glass and steel staircase leads up to the master super kingsize bedroom on the second floor, a glorious suite with TV, stunning lake views and an en-suite bathroom with a double-ended deep bath, separate shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.

Outside, The Boat House and other properties at Pullwood Bay enjoy half a mile of private lake frontage, perfect for enjoying a picnic at the water’s edge whilst taking in the glorious views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range. The private jetty is available for those wishing to launch a dinghy, canoe or kayak (with prior arrangement) and the shallow bay is safe for taking a quick dip, paddle boarding and perfect for those more adventurous wild swimmers amongst you.

N.B. Waterborne activities are undertaken at your own risk.

SUPERB OPEN PLAN LIVING WITH AN EVER-CHANGING VIEW OF THE LAKE

A staycation destination in its own right, The Boat House at Pullwood Bay is one of the most stunning properties to grace to shores of majestic Windermere. Dating back to the 18th century, this exceptional Victorian retreat is the jewel in Pullwood’s crown, sympathetically renovated and remodelled for modern-day visitors seeking a unique haven set against an incredible backdrop for a special celebration getaway. The Boat House not only boasts spectacular views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range but the accommodation oozes quality and charm and is the perfect place to spend precious, quality time with your loved ones, somewhere to instantly relax, unwind and soak up the exhilarating feeling that being above and over the water provides.

Although delightfully rural, Pullwood Bay is within an easy 2-mile reach of Ambleside and nearby Hawkshead where you’ll find a superb selection of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. The estate is set in over 51 acres of private landscaped gardens and mature, natural woodland. Guests can enjoy a stroll or bike ride through the beautiful grounds which are home to wild deer, squirrels and a superb selection of flora, fauna.

This beautiful corner of the Lakes offers superb walking and cycling opportunities for all ages and abilities, nearby Tarn Hows being a firm favourite of ours, particularly when followed by a visit to the famous Drunken Duck Inn, just half a mile from Pullwood Bay – it really is a must!

It’s a great location and very quiet. It is very spacious and has most amenities. The view is to die for and great for bird watching. Parking nice and easy on site. I would give 5 but a few bits needed a bit more attention but it did not spoil our stay.

The accommodation was immaculate and very well designed and very well thought out. Everything in the boathouse was of the highest standard which, coupled with the amazing view across the lake made it a very special place to stay.

Fabulous! Amazing views of the lake- better than the pictures. Beautifully decorated place. Comfortable and peaceful, good base with lovely walks nearby. Can walk to Joey's cafe ( has plant based food, icecream and delicious coffee) sits in grounds of Wray Castle. Not far from Ambleside - nice walk.
