Lovely and peaceful location. Well equipped and cosy house with nice garden and parking for 3 medium size cars. Main bedroom well designed with plenty of storage, comfortable seating and en suite with shower. Cosy lounge with adjacent dinning area for 4 people and a separate dinning area suitable for 8-10 people. Secluded garden with access to a terrace with excellent views of the surrounding fells. Large table with seating for 6-8 people and a barbecue in the garden. Kitchen well equipped with plenty of storage spaces and essential crockery / glasses / cutlery. Large fridge in the kitchen and a large freezer near the downstairs bathroom. Excellent Wifi and internet linked TV with good selection of Apps. About 10 minutes walk to the centre of Ambleside. Quite an incline up the "Struggle" on the return journey but lovely scenery and good exercise!! Great place to enjoy the Ambleside walks and restaurants.

The Airbnb was beautiful and peaceful - within walking distance of Ambleside. Spacious interior with a landscaped garden. There were 5 bedrooms - 3 spacious doubles and 2 good size singles. The "main" bedroom had an ensuite bathroom, small snug with 2 sofas and a balcony overlooking the garden. There was another good size bathroom on the upper floor with toilet, washbasin, shower and bath. The ground floor had a cosy lounge with a wood burner leading to a dinning area adequate for 4 people. The kitchen was galley style and well equipped with good storage, large fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The kitchen led to a second dinning area with a table for 8-10 people, 2 further bedrooms (1 double and 1 single) and a small third bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. There was a large freezer near this bathroom. The heating was good and Wifi was excellent. There is parking for 3 cars but the narrow lane can make entering the car port tricky for larger vehicles. Lovely place!

Lovely place to stay- really nice walk straight from house initially through farmers fields then can go into open fields. Great location close to Ambleside. Disappointing on arrival as no toilet roll in the bathrooms, no basic essentials in kitchen such as bin bags or oil for cooking. No wood left in the house at all and it said initial wood provided so would recommend taking wood if it’s cold! Really good communication and easy to find, easy check in with lockbox.

It’s a lovely location, a lane just off the bottom of The Struggle. About 15 mins walk into Ambleside. It’s a long and rambling house with multi-stepped and over grown gardens; hidden at the very top is patio where you can look out over Loughrigg and towards Langdale.

We (6 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby) spent a very happy week at the cottage, in part because we had very good weather and spent a lot of time outside in the wonderful garden. The house had everything we needed. We regularly walked to and from Ambleside, with and without buggies, and didn't find The Struggle too difficult.

A lovely long weekend with a group of friends doing the Great North Swim. The house is lovely and spacious, was clean when we got there with everything we needed. Short walk into Ambleside and loved watching the sunset from the balcony.

We had a wonderful stay for my Dad's 70th birthday trip. The location was perfect for walks and wild swimming. The house was warm and clean. The highchair was perfect for our nine month old baby. We would highly recommend.

A great company to book with. We stayed at Seathwaite Cottage during the snow and found we were unable to get our cars out to return home. Michelle arranged for us to stay another day free of charge! We have used Lakeland retreats many times now for our holidays in the Lake District and have always had a great experience. We look forward to booking again next year. Many thanks.

We all had a fabulous stay at Seathwaite cottage. We were a family of 7 adults with a todler and dog, there was plenty room for us all. The cottage was a 10 min walk into town and was close to many pubs and restaurants in Ambleside. It was very clean and comfortable with a lovely log burning fire. The beautiful garden was an added bonus too. We would certainly return, many thanks for our stay.

We had a lovely stay at Seathwaite Cottage. Location is excellent being 10-15 minutes walk from Ambleside although walk back may be a bit steep for some at 1:5. Cottage is well appointed with good size bedrooms which fitted in our 7 adults and 4 under 4 fine. Recommended for a largish group looking for a base in the Lake District. Host was first class and very responsive.

Beautiful cottage and magical stay. Close to cafes, restaurants and shops. Views where stunning. House itself as described - large bedrooms with lots of space and areas where clean. Would definitely recommend a stay and come again.

Beautiful location, lovely garden and house, perfect for summer days bbq'ing and enjoying time with the family. So tempted to have the fire on in the evenings inside but the weather was perfect so didn't get a chance. Bedrooms were big and spacious, living room was comfy and inviting! 100% would recommend!

Wonderful stay at Seathwaite Cottage. Perfectly situated to walk out for beautiful walks but also within easy reach of Ambleside on foot. we were a group of 8 with a baby and had a lovely time, especially enjoyed the lovely garden with amazing views from the top of the garden steps!

A group of 7 us stayed here for the Fred Whitton cycling event. The place was perfect for us. A few minutes walk into Ambleside down the iconic 'Struggle' climb. The view from top of the garden over the hills is beautiful! plenty of space and great facilities for a big group like us.

Gorgeous garden and very homely quirky house. A few aspects are a bit dated (e.g. two of the bathrooms) but it was a great space for multigenerational family stay. Main issue was we arrived in snow/ice and parking was very tricky. Also very limited household stuff provided - no soap in one bathroom, limited toilet rolls etc, and no welcome pack or helpful info such as a visitors book. Little touches would have made us feel a bit more welcomed.

Beautiful home in Ambleside just a short walk (approx 10 mins) to the town centre although it is a steep hill so the walk back can take a little longer. House was spotless and stunning. Only thing to improve would be to let guests know to bring firewood as we ended up arriving later than we anticipated and only had a few logs to burn that night. Easily sorted in the morning but if we had known we would have bought some on route. All in all though a fantastic stay and definitely would return

We had a great stay. It's a sprawling kind of place with some disjointed areas that occasionally impeded traffic flow for the eight of us (the kitchen becomes a bit of a bottleneck if several people try to occupy it). Plumbing was a little funky too but actually worked quite well. I drove a large van and didn't find the lower parking spot to be a problem. Our other car required a little more engineering to negotiate the upper parking spot. Location, an undeniable source of the place's charm, was challenging for older folks, who could negotiate the "down" part of the half mile walk into Ambleside but were intimidated by the "up" part.

Our party of nine very much enjoyed the beautiful location of Seathwaite Cottage. The property was well-equipped, clean and well-furnished. It's setting just outside of Ambleside was very quiet but provided good access to activities both nearby and further afield. Parking/manoeuvring of three vehicles can be a little tight. That said, we would certainly recommend the accommodation to other parties of this size that appreciate a quiet Lakeland setting.

Very welcoming home in a beautiful spot on the outskirts of Ambleside. It has everything a family or group of friends would need. Very pleasant garden area too.

Lovely cottage in Ambleside. It has a great outdoor area and is perfect for a weekend away with family and friends. The only slight downside is the steep hill that you have to walk up to get to it. Overall, communication and check in was smooth but we thought the check in time of 4pm and the check out time of 10am could have been a little more generous.

This property is nothing short of amazing. It's a short GORGEOUS walk into town, sits on a beautiful hillside, and has a beautiful terraced garden with a stunning view of the property and surrounding farms and hills. There is also hiking trail access a minute up the hill. The interior is incredibly spacious, with 5 BRs - 2 of which are more like suites. Two families could easily stay here and it was MORE than enough space for our family of 5. We enjoyed the cozy living room and dining space, and even got a fire going in the wood stove one night. Made use of the kitchen, which has everything needed, and the washer dryer too! Don't hesitate to book this amazing home

A really brilliant property in a lovely location! My friends and I stayed for four nights and had a great time. The cottage is very comfortable (excellent beds and a good living space downstairs) and well provisioned, especially in the kitchen area - and it also has a delightful garden space for when the weather holds up! Just ten minutes walk into Ambleside and very well placed to start a number of good walks. Although it should go without saying in the Lake District, the hill that it is situated on is very steep at 20 degrees so if you have any mobility issues it might be tricky to walk directly to and from, but it is very accessible by car. Michelle and her team were excellent and very responsive to any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend Seathwaite Cottage!

Beautiful house and beautiful garden which we enjoyed spending eveninsband breakfast outdoors. The property in a fantastic location, quiet but close to main town. It is up a steep hill, didn't bother us but may be an issue for some. Parking for 2 cars not a problem if you are decent at reverse parking! Dog friendly with porch area for muddy pooches. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay here for a family celebration for my mum’s 80th birthday. The cottage is beautiful - secluded to feel like you’re deep in the countryside but only a 5-10 min walk from the centre of Ambleside. Would thoroughly recommend!

Such a fabulous stay, everything you will need and brilliant location! Beautiful cottage with so much character, the bedrooms and views upstairs were my favourite! And lovely (huge) outside area! Massive bonus also having two parking spaces, which are very hard to come by when booking places in the lakes! Thank you !
