ATTRACTIVE, CHARACTER COTTAGE COMBINING OLDE WORLDE FEATURES WITH 21ST CENTURY STYLING

From street level, enter Roembeck through the solid oak front door and into the highly fashionable open plan living space, a superb social room with original Lakeland flagged floors, extensive exposed stone walls and accent oak beams. The lounge area is dominated by a full-length stone wall against which sits a warming woodburning stove with sofas wrapping around the same. The formal dining area blends through into the solid wood, bespoke kitchen with integrated appliances and Belfast sink wrapped in cool granite. A handy cloaks area sits next to the back door which leads to a small patio style garden with furniture provided.

Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor and the two beautiful kingsize bedrooms with exposed stonework, original beams and quality beds dressed in crisp white linens with carefully chosen soft furnishings to complete the look. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite rainfall shower cubicle, twin basins and WC and there’s a further house bathroom with a freestanding bath, rainfall shower cubicle, basin and WC.

The third, double bedroom can be found in the annexe, a beautiful mini-suite, all on the ground floor, with an en-suite rainfall shower room, basin and WC. The suite also has the advantage of a small lounge area with a TV and wood-burning stove, kitchen and dining facility.

Outside there’s a small patio with furniture provided with direct access to Compston Street. Although Roembeck doesn’t have its own parking, a permit is provided for one vehicle which can be used on a number of car parks in the village and throughout the South Lakes, proving quite a saving on the overall cost of your holiday.

Had a fabulous stay at Roembeck. A lovely cottage in the heart of Ambleside. Well equipped, very homely, annexe was great for our daughter and boyfriend to have their own space. Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Welcomed by a nice bottle of fizz and lots of handy information from Lakeland Retreats like walks from Ambleside, top 10 dog friendly pubs etc. Once we got the hang of the parking situation it was fine, you need to time it right in the long stay car parks when it’s really busy, and the permit was great. We purchased an additional permit as we had two cars. Some days we didn’t even get in the car as there is so much on your doorstep whether that be walks, shops, pubs, cafes. Will definitely be back again!!

Roembeck is a wonderfully cosy cottage in a peaceful but central location in the town of Ambleside. It is thoughtfully renovated and the bedrooms and bathrooms in particular are lovely. I stayed for 4 nights during half term with my husband and our 13 year old son and his friend and my parents. It was perfect for such a range of ages. The teens loved the annex and the local cinema and the adults enjoyed the town restaurants, shops and the beautiful local walks and central Lakeland location. We would definitely come back next year but would make sure we booked it for longer next time.

Absolutely gorgeous house in an ideal location in Ambleside. Spotless, very well equipped, cosy, clear instructions, couldn't have asked for anything better. And the car park permit was a brilliant bonus! Thank you :)

This house has huge potential. It is in a fantastic location and it is beautifully laid out. Unfortunately I had a bad time booking a property with the agents who run this - Lakeland Retreats. My partner and I tried to book three different properties with them through AirBnB and all three were not available for dates listed and after requesting to book all three Lakeland Retreats sent me a message saying they would only accept the booking if I was willing to pay more than they originally asked for. This meant I wasted a lot of time as the properties were no longer in my budget and other places stopped being available. When I contacted them to explain my frustration they didn't offer any help or compromise as I would've expected. Eventually I booked with them as I had wasted so much time searching for properties that ended up being unavailable/out of my budget. The place also wasn't well stocked: not enough loo roll for 4 people for a week, no kitchen roll, no oil, no bin liners etc

Fantastic accommodation, with plenty of room for 6 people. The annex is a brilliant idea. Ambleside is a lovely place to stay, great restaurants, 2 bijou cinemas, close to the lake where you can access various ferries up and down Windermere. Thoroughly recommend Roembeck!!

Roembeck is a beautifully restored cottage, a tasteful blend of old and new. The kitchen is well equipped, the living kitchen area cosy and social being open plan, the bathrooms are modern and toasty warm, the beds super comfortable with lovely bedding. The central location is great, the parking permit was useful. We all loved staying here, would recommend it and hope to return soon.Lakeland Retreats made the whole process of booking and arrival/departure super easy with a personal touch, thank you.

We loved our stay here. Great location. Beds were very comfy. Living room was cosy and the wood stove was a great addition when we were cold and wet from rainy walks. The kitchen had everything you needed with everything laid out well. The bathrooms were spacious and clean and the water pressure was a lot better than back at home! Communication with Lakeland was great from the start and the parking permit proved to be very helpful. We can’t wait to visit again and potentially try a different Lakeland property :-)
