SUPER STYLISH, PARKWOOD IS IDEAL FOR A LARGER GATHERING OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Steps up to the front door here at Parkwood lead into a spacious, open plan living area with contemporary, well-fitted kitchen wrapped in cool granite worktops with excellent appliances of dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer. A formal dining area flows through to the comfortable lounge area with deep-cushioned leather sofas arranged around the local slate fireplace with electric fire, Smart TV. Patio doors lead directly out onto the balcony with table and chairs and views across the valley to Loughrigg.

Leading off from the kitchen is a snug with cosy seating for two, perfect for quiet relaxation or enjoying a good book. Glass doors from the snug open onto the balcony, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces. Adjacent to the snug, there’s a utility cupboard housing a washing machine and dryer, providing added convenience during your stay.

The rear entrance to Parkwood has a gentle slope and just two steps. Parkwood has been sympathetically renovated with solar panels, harnessing sustainable energy to power the property.

Parkwood has four good bedrooms, a twin sitting a few steps up from the lounge offering a good degree of privacy from the rest of the house. The other three bedrooms, a kingsize, a double, and a single, sit at the other end of the house. There are two excellent bathrooms, one with a shower over a deep bath, the other with a large shower cubicle, both with basin, WC, and heated towel rail.

Outside, the lovely sunny balcony/patio off the lounge has a table and chairs and a second patio sits at the side of the house, providing a little more privacy and shade by way of tall shrubs and hedges. There is ample off-road parking for up to three cars and access to the garage for storing bikes, kayaks, and other outdoor gear. A convenient outside tap and hose is perfect for washing muddy paws and boots after a day on the fells.

DELIGHTFULLY DETACHED BUNGALOW WITH LOVELY VIEWS OF LOUGHRIGG FELL

Parkwood is a superb example of a modern-day, self-catering retreat, perfectly placed in a quiet, residential backwater of popular Ambleside. Gently elevated above the village and delightfully detached, this split-level bungalow occupies a sunny, corner plot and offers stylish, comfortable accommodation for a larger party of friends and family. There is a sunny patio directly off the lounge, just the spot for enjoying your morning cuppa whilst taking in the lovely views across the village to Loughrigg beyond.

A ten-minute walk downhill brings you to the shores of Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on Windermere Lake Cruises’ latest vessel, MV Swift and take in the glorious views of the surrounding fell range. Ambleside itself has a great selection of indoor and outdoor attractions to suit our typical Lakeland climate and caters well for holidaymakers offering a great selection of supermarkets, local butchers, and bakers as well as an eclectic mix of tea rooms, bars, and restaurants to sample during the day and through to the evening.

This was our second stay at Parkwood and won't be the last. The bungalow is extremely well presented and contained everything we needed for a great stay. The kitchen has all the utensils you will need to make a good full English before a day exploring the Windermere area. It is so easy to get too by car and the bus stops at the end of the road are a real bonus when we wanted a car free day. We would highly recommend booking this bungalow.

Our second visit to Parkside and it was just as comfortable as we remembered.. Very clean and well equipped for our multi-generational family group. Excellent walks directly from the house and only 15 minutes to Wateredge Inn for a drink with fantastic views over the Lake. Appreciated parking space for 3 cars. Will be back next time we holiday in Ambleside. Thank you!

This property is in a lovely quiet part of Ambleside and the walks that are accessible from here are great. it is so well equipped and maintained by the owners and has a real homely feel, everything was so lovely and clean and fresh when we arrived, and it was great that we received a call to say the property was ready for us. we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this property, and hopefully we will be back to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ambleside, the accommodation was well equipped, communication was good and the place was particularly well cleaned and maintained. Ambleside is a great balance, we thought, as lots of places in the Lake District can be really busy but we found our stay (during the summer holidays) to have a good atmosphere without being rammed. Restaurants and pubs were good and quality days out near by.

Michelle was amazing, we stayed for a special family birthday and she had gone the extra mile with a special surprise on our arrival, and an all important pint of milk in the fridge. House was great for our family and we had an amazing time, along with lots of recommendations from her visitor book. Our boys said they loved it more than other places we haved stayed! Thank you for letting us stay, and making our weekend really special

We had a fantastic stay at Michelle’s place. The location is ideal, both in terms of being central to the Lake District, and only a short walk from the centre of Ambleside. The house is lovely, matching the photos and description. It’s big enough for several people, with good sized bedrooms, albeit the doubles are a bit of a squeeze for a travel cot, but we made it work. There’s also plenty of space for parking off the road, which is useful.

Fantastic accommodation, great location, it's literally a 5 min walk to the town center, and again a 5 min walk to the edge of Lake Windermere, very quiet lovely area that the bungalow is situated, you can take a walk up Wansfell pike which is 1.2 miles from the bungalow to the trig point and makes for a lovely, 3.3 mile loop if coming back down and past ghyll force waterfalls and through Ambleside, I can't recommend enough for anyone wanting a peaceful stay in the lakes.

This is a lovely house in a fab location. We did a number of walks from the house. We also walked to the pier on Windermere and took a boat trip. The house has everything you need for a great stay including a box of toys and children books that our grandchildren enjoyed playing with. The enclosed terrace off of the sitting room was nice to use and a real suntrap as was the whole sitting room.
