Overbeck sits proudly at the end of three properties under the same ownership, all sharing in a delightful lawned picnic area at the water’s edge. Accessed via a footbridge from the parking area, Overbeck’s windows face towards the river, the dining table providing a front row seat! The sofas are strategically placed in front of the electric stove and a neat but perfectly functional kitchen will ensure you can properly self cater if you so wish.
The spacious bedroom on the first floor has a superking size bed to ensure a good night’s rest and plenty of room for a cot if you’re bringing your little one with you. There’s a powerful shower over a deep pea shaped bath in the en-suite. Overbeck is pet free. Secure storage is available for sports equipment if required and there’s private, off road parking for two cars.

We loved our stay at Overbeck. The property was clean and the bed was really comfy. A good shower too! Fantastic views over the river - we saw ducks, a goosander and heron. There were a few books and a map in the cupboard. We liked the idea of a credit note at the shop and we got some lovely cake with the money, thank you! However the shop was quite expensive (e.g. £6.50 for a chocolate bar) so it didn't go very far. The maintenance team that we did see were lovely and polite and you can tell the properties are well looked after.

I would just like to wish a huge thanks to all the team involved in making our latest stay such a memorable experience. The cottage was prepared to the usual high standard and it was like returning home as we walked through the front door. Everywhere was perfectly clean and presented just as we always remember the place. Big shout out to Clare for helping us rearrange our New Year's stay and also for her taking the time to call us to make sure our car was moved to safety with the impending flooding of the Rothay (less than 2" and it would have flooded the gardens and parking). Our holidays to the Lakes are so special to us and your team are part of that special experience as without you and your professionalism, our holiday wouldn't be such a relaxing and comfortable time away. Thank you for your current help and future management of all our times to your wonderful part of the country. Eimear and I are both already counting down the days to our next stay with you. Thank you all again and again for all you do.

This is a wonderful property . It is well appointed with high quality furnishings . The view from the window in the dinning area is lovely . It’s a very relaxing place to stay and well situated just a short walk into Ambleside . The ‘virtual Hamper’ is a nice treat ! . Another great property from Lakeland Retreats !

Has to be one of the best cottages myself and wife have stayed in, the cottage had everything we needed and more, the scenery and location was first-class.

Overbeck Cottage is the perfect combination of “close to everything you might want to see or do” and a peaceful experience which makes you believe you’re living in a nature preserve. The apartment is better than it looks in the photos—it has everything you might need and more. The staff are responsive and proactive. There was a hitch with the WiFi, but other than that, our stay was incredible. We highly recommend Overbeck Cottage.

Cozy comfort! Close to everything but also just far enough away to enjoy some quiet time. Watching the river with ducks, goosanders, and a heron added some entertainment during breakfast and as we wound down at the end of the day.
