Stunning panoramic views & a unique tranquil location for up to 6 guests

Orchard Mount offers up to six guests an outstanding level of luxury, with stunning panoramic views & a unique tranquil location. The house has been renovated to the highest standard with minute attention to detail, opulent soft furnishings & original artwork.

The accommodation is light & spacious with plenty of room to comfortably enjoy time together but scope to find solitude.

Situated down an iconic picturesque lane in Troubeck, Orchard Mount offers the perfect home to enjoy time with family & friends.

The accommodation boasts a light & airy open-plan living space with a spacious dining hall, fully fitted kitchen, utility, cloakroom toilet; elegant sitting room with log-burning stove and panoramic views across the valley; and cosy snug/office with French doors opening onto the terraced garden. On the same floor, there is a double bedroom (king size bed) with en-suite bathroom (shower), ideal for any guest who struggles with stairs.

Upstairs, there is the master bedroom (super-king bed) with en-suite bathroom (bath/shower combination); bedroom with two single beds & family bathroom (separate bath and shower).

Orchard Mount has a large enclosed garden at the rear with sun terrace and table, ideal for al-fresco dining. A patio at the front also offers an ideal spot to enjoy the tranquill views across the valley. A small stream runs under the house which provides a naturally soothing and relaxing ambient noise when flowing.

Throughout, an effort has been made to source locally or UK manufactured goods and there is a focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable living-

An air-source heat pump provides underfloor heating through out the ground floor, heated bathroom floors and radiator heat in the upstairs bedrooms; all hand sewn, glue & foam free Harrison Spinks beds (a 5th generation family business who work in partnership with British Wool; Cotswold Company furniture handcrafted in the UK; luxury UK manufactured Dorma 500 thread-count bedding; goose-down duvets and pillows; natural artisan toiletries supplied by Bath House, Cumbria.

Other things to note

The historic lane leading to the house is part of the old coach road from Windermere to Penrith and is narrow and unmade, with several small potholes. All sizes of cars and small vans can gain access however this may be a small inconvenience but accounts for the quiet and serene setting.

The path to the front door is clearly separate from the edge of the garden which drops to the stream however, small children would have to be supervised as this is not fenced off.

The terrace in the back garden has a small drop round the edge which again, is not fenced. Please refer to the photos if this is of concern.

What a wonderful home. Really well decorated and finished. Beautiful quiet location with stunning views. Well stocked with some essentials and a generous welcome pack. We had everything we needed and felt really at home. Local pubs in walking distance. Queen’s head was our preferred. Good walks right from the house.

Clare's home was the perfect Lake District escape! The house is newly refurbished and beautifully done with everything you need for a lovely weekend away / holiday. In particular, the kitchen has great appliances and space for cooking delicious meals and we loved the cozy living room - great for board games in the evening or tucking into a film. We had great weather so enjoyed breakfasts and evening drinks outside the back of the house! Troutbeck is the perfect sport and the house had incredible views of the local area. Would definitely revisit!

Orchard Mount is perfect. It has everything you could need and very comfortable, and with stunning views. There are lots of wonderful walks from the house or a great place to stay and look out over the valley when the weather is less pleasant. The village is also great - a short walk to the church, the pub or up the road to the cafe or to Towenend farm, a NT property. We highly recommend Orchard Mount
