A windermere period home that dates back to the 1600’s

Low House is a period home that dates back to the 1600’s, located in Windermere. The house enjoys a picturesque south-facing location and is extremely sought after. This lovely property can be accessed via a traditional slate and glazed entrance porch, featuring stone seating on either side. Step inside and you’ll be taken aback by this charming abode.

The dining room is an exquisite area curated with style. Take in the rustic ambience while admiring the exposed ceiling beams accented with shuttered windows that frame the lovely garden ahead. The sitting room is sure to leave you feeling relaxed with its comfortable atmosphere. The log burner, the panelled walls, and the bay window lend the perfect touch to any evening or cold day.

The drawing room is a classic, elegant example of the grandeur and sophistication of Victorian architecture. It features tall windows, high ceilings with ornate cornice mouldings, and recessed alcove bookcase shelving. The perfect addition to any luxurious interior!

The kitchen forms the centre of any home, particularly in the Lakeland style. This room boasts two electric ovens and an electric induction hob, with plenty of cabinets, storage cupboards, and ample working surfaces. The Belfast sink and drainer are paired with a large window that gives views to the sides of the house and a door for access to the garden.

A wooden staircase extends from the centre of the house, accessing most bedrooms, which are spread over two stories. Each bedroom offers its own unique view, either overlooking the garden or the stunning countryside beyond. Two of the large double rooms benefit from en suites, five of the bedrooms also benefit from en suite WC along with two further house bathrooms.

Low House boasts almost two acres of outdoor space for you to enjoy. The gardens and grounds feature raised pathways, lush lawns and flowerbeds, and a variety of mature trees such as oak and beech. Following the path left of the front of the house, at the top of the garden is your own private hot tub. There is also the luxury of the Breeze House, a wonderful outside space with plenty of seating where you can enjoy alfresco lunch and drinks. A pure haven that you can simply take advantage of relaxing in tranquillity! Low House is sure to provide endless peaceful moments surrounded by nature.

Ample private parking areas are available and on the opposite side of the lane, the gardens incorporate a generous level parking and turning area for around 7 cars.

Low House was a truly amazing Lakeland property. Each plush living room included good quality furniture and each comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean bathrooms included what appeared to be brand new fixtures and fittings. A total of 13 people, (comprising 9 adults and 4 children) stayed over a gloriously sunny pre-Easter weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday and the very well appointed kitchen included every conceivable kitchen appliance supplied to the highest standard coped extremely well with the demands of a wide variety of meals. Particular mention should be made of the large garden across the lane including Breeze House. We particularly enjoyed watching the children play in a very safe space, allowing the adults to unwind with a glass of something cool! No review of Low House would be complete without mention of the hot tub! What a great feature of the accommodation, particularly enjoyed by the children. Thank you Low House for an unforgettable weekend.

Absolutely stunning house, just off the main touristy areas of Bowness and Windermere. You get complete seclusion in the middle of nature. All the rooms were well equipped and clean, the kitchen was large and allowed us to cook for our entire 14 person group with ease. Would recommend this to anyone.

The whole house is lovely; it's finished to a really high standard, right down to small details such as glassware and kitchen utensils, all of which are of high standard. Lovely big rooms, full of character, clean, nicely designed, comfy beds, and nice, high-quality linen; it was just lovely, and the pictures don't do it justice.

Finding it was easy, the check in was hassle free. Everything you could need. It looks better in real life, don’t think the pictures do it justice. Only down side was trying to find the hot tub in the dark. No idea where it was or how to get there. When we eventually found only a couple minutes walk up the hill. It had lights to turn the on, it was no issues.

This is an absolutely gorgeous property! Pretty much everything has been thought of and the little touches (including that it was decorated for Christmas when we visited in December) made it so homely and lovely. There is absolutely plenty of kitchenware and the bedrooms are all gorgeous, too. All of it is!

What a simply beautiful and fantastic place!! This house is one of the best we have stayed in. Plenty of space for large groups, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms which feel luxury. The fire places and hot tubs were a fantastic addition. Michelle and the rest of the team were great at communication throughout. Great location which is very private and manageable to walk into Bowness and the lake within 30mins. We would definitely stay again and some guests were already looking at availability for next year already. Safe to say this is a 5 star accommodation. Thank you!

Low House is a wonderful home in which our 3 generational family enjoyed a recent stay. The bedrooms are roomy and decorated to a high standard with en-suites to most of them. The water pressure in the showers was excellent. The rooms in the attic do have low sloping ceilings which give restrictive movement. The kitchen is wonderful, with everything we needed, plenty of cutlery, crockery, and glasses and with two ovens and two dishwashers we never ran out. The house had a large dining table were all of us enjoyed our meals. We loved the two lounge areas as well as the reception hall as there was plenty of space for us chill out, whether reading, watching tv, family games etc. The hot tub was a big hit, and it is far enough away from the house to offer privacy and the noise did not travel so as little ones could sleep. Across the lane to the outdoor space at the front of the house was a great place to kick a ball around and the summer house is very cosy. We all loved our stay at Low House and enjoyed the location and the 20 min walk across the fields to Bowness. A great property for a large get-together.

The weather was terrible this time round but our moods didn't change. This house is so spacious and had many board games to choose from. (We recommend the accent game & 5 second rule if your adult and fancy a good laugh). We can't WAIT to stay here again, it's so beautiful.

There is not many houses that we rent, that when you walk through the door and instantly relax. The attention to details is fantastic. We will be recommending this to our friends and family.

Me and my family stayed here the first bank holiday in may and the first word that comes to mind is WOW! What a beautiful home this is for all the family to get together. All the rooms were gorgeous, everything was clean and tidy and the hot tub and outdoor area was a bonus! Only a walk away from central Bowness too so it's got the perfect location... that perfect we have booked to actually stay again very soon. The whole family can't think of one fault. Thank you very much and we can't wait to be back in July. The McGuigan Family

We loved the house, every details was perfect. Loved that the owners thought of everything. The layout was perfect, especially for our large amount of guests. The hot tub was a brilliant addition, it's a beautiful spot to take in the view.
