A charming traditional cottage with sweeping views on its doorstep

Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Cumbria, in the heart of Troutbeck Village, Longmire Yeat Cottage, with parts dating back to the 17th century, exudes a charming traditional allure and offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.

With its original features like exposed beams, this former Quaker meeting house emanates character, providing an ideal setting for a family retreat in the Lake District, perfect for indulging in some rewarding fell walking adventures.

Enter this tranquil sanctuary and find yourself in a thoughtfully designed utility room, ideal for stashing away your muddy boots before exploring further. The well-appointed country kitchen awaits, equipped with modern appliances, an array of utensils, and a delightful dining area where you can savor delicious meals throughout your stay.

Ascend the steep wooden staircase to the first floor and discover a cozy sitting room adorned with a charming wood-burning stove and a state-of-the-art flat-screen Smart TV, offering a cozy space to unwind with loved ones after a day of lake activities.

A few steps down lead to a comfortable bedroom featuring a spacious super-king-size bed convertible into twins upon request, along with a convenient dressing room. Adjacent lies another bedroom with a charming single bed. Across the way, a modern bathroom awaits with a generous p-shaped bath and overhead shower. Ascending a small set of steps from the sitting room leads to the third and final bedroom, boasting sloping ceilings and unique furnishings, along with a comfortable double bed.

Enjoyable stay. Well appointed cottage, quiet with lovely views. Top bedroom not for tall people as very low beams so have to bend low to avoid hitting your head. However, that aside we had a great time walking the fells and having a peaceful cottage to return to. Post Office great for coffee and cakes.

A fabulous place to stay in the Lake District, far enough away from the busy spots but still easy to get everywhere. Loved it, as did our two little boys! Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Troutbeck. The home was spacious, comfortable, full of character and walking distance to cafe and pub. A peaceful alternative to nearby Windermere and Ambleside. A magical part of the world, hope we can return one day.
