A WEALTH OF ORIGINAL FEATURES

Much effort has been taken to retain a wealth of original features here at Little Bethel to include exposed stone walls and original oak beams, cleverly married with a modern-day oak floor throughout. Enter into the open plan living space where pride of place and set against the stonework sits a wood-burning stove, perfect for cosying around on the leather sofa in the cooler months. A comfortable window seat provides an amazing vista over the rooftops to Loughrigg Fell beyond and the well-equipped kitchen is wrapped in cool granite complimented by limestone tiles.

The plush Kingsized bedroom continues the traditional theme with charming windows, delightful soft furnishings access to a characterful dressing room with day bed. The adjacent bathroom is dressed with slate tiles for that added luxury and offers a power shower over a deep bath, ideal for soothing those tired legs after a day on the fells.

Park outside either on the sloping roadside or use the handy permit provided on the nearby Rydal Road car park, just a couple of minutes down the road.

We had a brilliant stay at Little Bethel. It was a great location for exploring Ambleside (and wider area as the bus was very handy as well as being near the start point for lots of walks). The flat was so cosy and comfortable - very clean and exactly as described/pictured. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Perfect for having a chilled evening in or for popping out to the restaurants and pubs. Communication was excellent as well. We are already looking into when we can come again! Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Thoroughly charming pied-à-terre for anyone who wishes both to enjoy the pretty town of Ambleside and have an ideal starting point for trips on Lake Windermere and for walks in the surrounding countryside. The accomodation is 5 mins' walk from an array of shops and restaurants catering to all tastes and gives a real sense of homeliness to return to after a day of sightseeing.

Super handy location for walking into Ambleside and the view from the living room window is lovely. The property had everything we needed for our stay. The parking permit was a pleasant surprise too and gave us free parking at multiple sites in the Lakes.

We've been staying at Little Bethel a number of times and the property always feels like a perfect fit for us. Just one thing noticeable this time during our stay: the kitchen under-wallunits cupboard lights were broken (or not yet repaired). We had to use the ceiling lights, which is functionally OK but not as nice and cosy especially in the evenings.

Gorgeous cottage in the centre of Ambleside with lovely views of the hills. Very comfortable and well equipped with a beautiful interior, plenty of space and handy dressing room for keeping muddy hiking gear tidied away. A perfect getaway, we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

A wonderful place to stay and very comfortable with plenty of space for two. Great location right in Ambleside. Efficient with parking permit. Highly recommend staying here. However, the boiler broke and as their office hours are 8-5pm no-one responded. There’s a ‘real maintenance emergency number’ until 8pm. As it wasn’t life or death situation, we didn’t call. The boiler and heating were efficiently repaired the next day. Thank you. We had a marvellous time.

Great location for Ambleside!! Kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, which was great to not do dishes after a long hike. Very cute place as well. A bit difficult to load and unload things as the street is quite narrow and there is no nearby parking spots.

Stayed at Little Bethel for the second time over the Christmas period. Set in a lovely part of old Ambleside, the apartment/cottage is in an ideal location for walking into town, Rydal and Grasmere. A lovely traditional style building with a modern twist. Lovely, warm and clean. Love it

Stunning place in a great location. A few minutes walks into the heart of Ambleside - if that! Would recommend making the most of the cottage because the kitchen space is great, coupled with a cosy / lounging area. The slate interiors are even better in real life. Overall, the perfect stay.
