CHARMING MID-TERRACED COTTAGE SET IN THE HEART OF WINDERMERE
From the street, enter into a small hallway and into the beamed lounge room with a multi-fuel stove set in a feature stone fireplace and SMART TV with a DVD player. Through to the charming dining room with farmhouse table and chairs, decorative fireplace (not in use), the room opens to the fully fitted kitchen with slate floor and appliances of the fridge, electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher.
From the dining room there is a separate ground floor toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead down from the dining room to the lower ground floor and a pretty twin bedroom, a good size room with plenty of storage. Stairs from the hallway lead to the first floor where you’ll find a spacious kingsize bedroom to the front of the house with a built-in wardrobe and a further single bedroom to the rear. The family bathroom, also on this floor, has a shower over the bath, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Although there is no private parking here at Honeycomb Cottage, there is a permit for use on the nearby WFC car park on Broad Street.

Honeycomb cottage was a good base for exploring the lakes. The property itself was bigger than we expected and although there isn’t a garden there is a little outdoor space where the dog could go on the lead. Again unexpected bonus. The welcome treats were a nice touch and the house was well equipped with kitchen equipment, bedding, TVs etc. The house was clean and the instructions were really useful.
The only downside for us really was that as an older house it needed a bit of TLC particularly in the bathroom. This wouldn’t put us off staying again because it should be easy to fix and has been fed back in detail.
Overall really positive experience and Lakeland retreats are a good company to holiday with. Would visit other properties in their portfolio in the future.

Host very responsive, easy to find cottage and check in. Location excellent for local shops, but still quiet. Comfortable accommodation. A parking permit was provided to allow parking in nearby car park - never unable to find a space. We also used the permit in Ambleside car park a couple of times. A good base for access to lots of walks.

Absolutely, I'd be happy to help you with that review! Wow, what an amazing experience we had at this cottage in Windermere! I can't stress enough how fantastic it was. First off, the rental office staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us wonderful local recommendations and even let us store our bags and food in the fridge to keep it cold before check-in. Now, let's talk about the cottage itself - it was an absolute dream! Every corner was like something out of a Pinterest board. The attention to detail was impeccable, and it exceeded all our expectations. As if that wasn't enough, they even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to enjoy during our stay. In summary, our time at this cottage was beyond perfect. If you're looking for a cozy and charming getaway in Windermere, look no further - this place is a gem!

We have recently returned from a stay at Honeycomb Cottage. It was a lovely property that was beautifully furnished and cosy. It was extremely clean and we very much appreciated the welcome bottle of Prosecco! The wood burner is easy to use and you can easily buy logs etc from the local garage, which is a few minutes walk away. We found the little chippy opposite very good and the Magic Wok Chinese Takeaway does excellent food. We would also like to mention how helpful the Lakeland Retreats staff were ! We will definitely be returning to Honeycomb !!

Lovely old cottage in the heart of Windermere, close to the train station and main bus routes through the lakes. The cottage was just what we were looking for, clean and tidy and a feel of a home from home.

Right in the centre of Windermere village. Loads of great cafes, restaurants on our doorstep. The beds were clean and comfortable, the rooms bigger than expected and car park close by with permit provided. Easy access not only to the property but also walks, train station and buses.

We will definitely return here! A beautiful house, ideally situated for food and sightseeing. A wonderful touch was the parking permit that was included in the welcome pack - it saved us a fortune on parking throughout the week. All kitchen amenities were on hand so that we could cook if we were feeling a little cheap or roll out of our front door and within a few steps we had an abundance of eateries to choose from! House was clean and tidy and we felt right at home.

Me and 2 friends stayed in honeycomb cottage for a long weekend. The cottage was clean and homely and is in the centre of Windermere. We had no issues whilst staying here and the host was very responsive when we asked about the parking permit. Parking gets VERY busy as expected nearby but the permit allowed us to go further afield and explore. We had everything we needed in the house, it was very spacious! The only thing I'd say if I was being picky is that the cottage didn't have a small freezer compartment. The outside space was simple but that's all that was required with such a beautiful area to explore.

Very convenient - short walk from train / bus station / big grocery store. Close to all the restaurants yet in a private street. Spacious and comfortable. About 20m walk to the lake. Great stay!

We had the best time at Honeycomb Cottage. It was lovely, spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy and it had everything we needed. The location is perfect -restaurants, coffee shops and food shops are all within walking distance. Parking close by. The adults and our dog had a wonderful time. We will definitely book again.

Brilliant cottage in a central location in Windermere. Parking permit for a car park closest was a godsend. We were allowed an early entry to the property, which enabled us to arrive early, get unpacked and start our holiday so much sooner.
The property was excellent, we loved the log burning stove. The bottle of prosecco was a lovely gesture. We will certainly return.

Our family had such a lovely stay in Honeycomb. It is located right in the centre of Windermere. There are some great shops to explore, delicious restaurants and bakeries and a nice little park about a 3 minute walk away for the kids and dog to run. Booths is located right up the hill for groceries which was very helpful to us. This was our first time in the Lake District and we were stunned by the beauty and had such a lovely walk on the Coffin route (very kid friendly).

Fantastic location & a beautiful well kept cottage in the heart of Windermere.They allowed us to take our two small well behaved dogs.Sleeps 5 & the bedrooms are fantastic.Near to many great bars & restaurants & only a 15-20min walk down to Bowness by the lake.Very near to the train & bus station & many great walks on your doorstep.Free parking & a nice bottle of prosecco on arrival. All condiments supplied & everything you need for your stay in the cottage is supplied.Great value & would definitely recommend.

Great location, cosy cottage and perfect base camp for a quick trip away to the lakes with family and a dog. Parking passes also helped a lot and made life very easy. Sky TV and Chippy opposite were also great perks!

This a a lovely cottage in the centre of Windermere, it is spotlessly clean and well equipped, ideal for a family of 4 or 5 people. Located on a quiet street. There are lots of shops, lovely cafes and bars nearby. We would highly recommend it.
There can be an issue with parking due to the very limited parking on nearby streets. Car parks are quite a distance away.

We had a great time at this lovely cottage, its in a perfect location just off the main road with lots of great restaurants & shops but far enough away that it was quiet at night. The kitchen had every utensil & pot we needed, however there is no freezer compartment. The courtyard was a little disappointing as it is a small alleyway leading onto the main road. Our 16 yr old dog is fussy & wouldnt pee down there so we ended up taking her for a walk down the street in the night. If your dog isnt fussy then it will be fine.

The cottage was so lovely. We enjoyed ourselves so much. The location is easy to walk to the city center and there is a large field nearby to take your dogs if needed. The cottage had great spaces for all of us. The beds were so comfortable and they had everything you need! The kitchen was well stocked as well. We loved it here! Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful week in Honeycomb cottage. The cottage is spaciously set over three floors and is well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable break. The property is clean and warm with comfortable beds. The location is great with ai Little Chippy across the road and art galleries and plenty of shops just a short walk away. Highly recommended- we would stay again!

Lovely stay, the only downfall was trying to get parked up. There were no spaces available when we arrived and we had to carry all of our bags from the car park and street. Did spoil it a little on arrival. No wood, or welcome pack, although we did have a bottle of Prosecco which was a nice touch.

What a wonderful stay! It was just perfect. The house is gorgeous and just what we needed as a cosy base to get out and explore. Everything was super clean and tidy, and a treat to have a woodburner like home from home. Really close to pop out to the pubs and shops, but lovely and quiet at night. We loved the bright and spacious kitchen and dining room, and our beds were really comfy - perfect for flopping into after a walk and a swim! Can't wait to come back!

Had a great stay here, a few minor issues were dealt with swiftly by Lakeland Retreats meant that we able to enjoy our holiday. The cottage was well presented with everything we needed for our holiday, also in a great location right in the middle of town. Would definitely book again.

This house is in the most fantastic central location near loads of shops, cafes and walks. Best places are Home Ground for the best ever food, coffee & amazing cakes, The Pig for drinking & pizza & wild Boar inn (a short drive away). The little Chippy opposite is also very very good! There are plenty of lovely independant shops plus Booths & Sainsburys. The house was super clean, warm, cosy and really comfortable. Loads of room and so well equipped to live like you are at home, we love to cook and there was all the equipment needed. Very comfy mattress, super clean towels & bedding. There is even Sky tv! In the downstairs room there is a super efficient dehumidifier so no damp smell which basement rooms can sometimes have, but not here & a radiator, this is a lovely cosy additional bedroom with an extra tv! All in all a fantastic house, great location and somewhere we will stay time & time again. Thanks to the owner.
