Perfect for you and your small family, including your furry friend

Upon entering, leave your coats and boots in the spacious hallway before proceeding to the bright and beautiful living-dining room. Take in the wonderful views of the countryside from the dual aspect windows while you relax on the 2-seater sofa and two armchairs, cosied up by the electric fire. You can also enjoy entertainment on the Smart TV or simply lose yourself in a good book—though it might be hard with such a captivating view! The wooden dining table is perfect for catching up on the day's adventures or planning tomorrow's.

The kitchen is well-equipped, making it a joy for chefs. You'll find an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, so there's no need to debate over washing dishes. Additionally, there's a handy washing machine at your disposal.

On the ground floor, you'll find two bathrooms. The family bathroom offers a bath with a shower over it, while there's a modern shower room with its own WC, wash basin, and shower cubicle. Whether you prefer a leisurely soak or an invigorating shower, all preferences are catered to.

Head up the open tread stairs from the living area to the first floor, where you'll discover two beautiful bedrooms. The king-size room is a light-filled space with stunning views of the fields and fells from its dual aspect windows. It also features a solid wood wardrobe for your storage needs. The second bedroom is equally delightful, with a cosy double bed, a dressing table, and a practical clothes rail. This bedroom even has its own en-suite WC, a convenient feature.

Outside, you have private parking for one car (potentially space for two small cars depending on size). The cottage also boasts a charming small patio area with garden furniture, perfect for enjoying an al fresco aperitif while reflecting on your wonderful time in Grasmere. It's a real treat, especially given its proximity to the centre of Grasmere.

Please note that the property cannot accommodate children aged 7 years and under, including infants, due to open tread stairs on the first floor.

Grasmere, a village surrounded by breathtaking scenery

Once home to the renowned Lakes poet, William Wordsworth, you'll understand why he called it 'the loveliest spot that man hath ever found.' Explore the local shops and galleries, or visit Wordsworth's former residence, Dove Cottage, to delve deeper into his life and work. Grasmere offers fantastic walking opportunities, from the small National Trust woodland nearby to scenic walks around the lake or up to picturesque Easedale Tarn. For more adventurous hikers, Steel Fell and Helm Crag await.

If you head south, you'll reach Ambleside and bustling Bowness, both situated on the shores of Lake Windermere. There, you can enjoy a tranquil lakeside picnic, take a wild swim, rent a boat, or embark on a stylish cruise. Consider taking a ferry ride from Bowness to Hawkshead, another charming Lakes village famously associated with Beatrix Potter. Alternatively, venture north for about 20 minutes to reach Keswick, the adventure capital of the North Lakes, perfect for adrenaline enthusiasts. Whatever you choose to do during your stay, this cottage will be your welcoming home away from home.

Holly Grove cottage is well appointed, good Wi-Fi, very clean and has great views. Loved seeing the cattle grazing in the fields behind the cottage. Safe parking for 1 car and free parking on street. Would recommend for couples/small groups who enjoy walking in this lovely area.

Such a lovely, comfortable cottage with amazing views. With the addition of somewhere to park the car too, this made a great base. We will definitely come back!

Bumble Bee Cottage is ideally located in Ambleside, provided you don't mind a short uphill walk from the village centre. We loved the cottage: there was plenty of space for 4 adults, and we enjoyed the open-plan area downstairs and the beautiful garden. The kitchen is very well stocked (helpful if you like to cook, like we do) and the showers are wonderful - perfect after a long day walking in the hills! We would stay there again.
