DIRECT ACCESS TO THE SLOPES OF WANSFELL FROM THE REAR PATIO GARDEN

There are six slate steps up the front of the attractive looking High View. Step into the inner hallway and through to a comfortable lounge room arranged around the warming stove effect gas fire, the deep-cushioned sofas perfect for cosying into while enjoying a film or chit-chatting with your family. The bay window gives way to superb views. The modern kitchen dining room is really well-equipped and very spacious, ideal for enjoying leisurely meals together at the start or end of your day. A useful utility on the lower ground floor has a washer/ dryer and a great deal of space for all your outdoor clobber. On the first floor is a pretty king-size bedroom enjoying beautiful views over the village and fells and two smart bathrooms, one a luxurious bathroom with shower over the bath, basin and WC and a neighbouring shower room with large cubicle, basin and WC. Another flight of stairs leads you to the top floor of the cottage and two further bedrooms, a light bright twin to the rear, and a pretty double with arguably THE best view in Ambleside!

Outside, there’s off-road, private parking for one car. To the rear is a raised terraced patio with bistro table and chairs. Direct access can be had from here onto the footpath to Wansfell.

CHARMING VICTORIAN TERRACE COTTAGE ENJOYING FINE VIEWS OVER AMBLESIDE AND HER SURROUNDING FELL RANGE

High View sits proudly above popular Ambleside and as the name suggests, the cottage enjoys fabulous views over the village towards her surrounding fell and mountain range beyond. This Lakeland slate, period property has undergone a major facelift in recent times. The result of the upgrade is a successful mix of Victorian charm married with up to the minute, 21st-century styling and a truly comfortable retreat. With that all-important private off-road parking space to the front and direct access to the lower slopes of Wansfell to the rear, High View is ideal for those who like to park up and explore the local area and head for the hills!

A few minutes walk downhill brings you to the vibrant village of Ambleside, ever-popular with short and long stay visitors who come to enjoy the superb scenery and facilities throughout the year. Well stocked with several mini-markets, award-winning butchers, and a heavenly bakery, self-catering has never been easier. And, when you feel like a day off from kitchen duties, there are plenty of restaurants on hand offering a range of international cuisine to suit every palate and pocket as well as traditional pubs serving homemade fayre and, of course, the obligatory pint of local ale to accompany your meal.

Lovely cosy house in a convenient location, parking was great and the kitchen was really well equipped. Overall the house was a bit tired looking, and could definitely do with more coat hooks for wet walking gear

Great location. The beds were very comfortable and the property was clean. Please be aware that dogs have to be on lead in the garden because it is shared and they are not allowed on the grass belonging to the next door property.

Fab location in Ambleside. Steep walk in and out of town but worth it for the views and quiet. Lovely walk to the waterfalls directly from the back gate. Shared garden but we were fortunate enough to not have neighbours on our stay. Excellent facilities - all you would expect and more in terms of kitchen and laundering equipment.

Lovely house with fantastic views! Couple of issues which Lakeland Retreats were very quick to sort out for us. Best equipped house we have ever stayed in, didn’t want for anything. Would recommend staying at High View.

High View is warm, cosy and extremely well equipped. Perfectly placed in Ambleside to take advantage of many glorious walks without using your car! The Lake Retreats team gave us first class service from the first communication with them until we arrived leaving yummy jams and chutneys to enjoy. I would not hesitate to recommend Lake Retreats. Thank you for a wonderful stay in the Lakes.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Clean and very comfortable. In a great location. Puffed out up the path from Ambleside but that’s us being unfit!! Easy to get to everywhere from the house. The bed and duvet where so comfortable. Looking to buy one of those duvets! Kitchen had everything you would need.

Had a fantastic week in this beautiful cottage. Ideally located for walks and Ambleside (beware it’s a very steep walk). Cottage was clean and well equipped and was perfect for our stay. And the views were the best we have ever had. Also really useful have its own parking space. Would recommend this cottage to everyone.

We had a very lovely and comfortable stay at Ambleside. The views were just amazing. The cottage was very comfortable and very well equipped. It was in such a great position that we parked the car and didn’t use it for the whole week as there was so many beautiful walks straight from the village. Would highly recommend.

Great location in Ambleside with excellent access to shops, restaurants, and lovely hikes to fells and waterfalls from your door. Thoughtfully appointed kitchen with quality appliances and cookware. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, strong Wi-Fi, and lovely views. Great spot to visit with a dog as well. Would definitely stay here again.
