Location is perfect a short walk into town and many accessible hill walks very comfy stay. Great faculties. Bed was great and a powerful shower.

Lovely Airbnb with a nice outlook over Ambleside. The amenities were as listed and the apartment was very comfortable. A welcome pack was provided, and we even had essentials like salt, sugar etc, which was really nice to have after our long drive to get to the Lakes! The boiler did make quite a bit of noise each morning but I suppose that could be turned off. And the listing said there was a washer dryer but there was only a washing machine. Overall we were really happy with the place and how walkable it was to the centre of town. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to others.

Hidden Gem was a well presented cottage, in an excellent location, with everything you needed for a weeks holiday, alongside a good amount of space. The views from the kitchen and living room were amazing, and just what you want if you’re visiting the Lake District, with the convenience of the centre of town being just on the doorstep, and there being parking (for a small car). The washing machine was an added bonus after a days hiking. I would definitely recommend and we will be back.

Perfect place to stay in Ambleside to explore the Lake District from.

Neat & freshly-presented, worked well as a base for a walking holiday and exploring the town. The parking really is as tricky as forewarned (if not more so) and shouldn’t be underestimated. The flat is the farthest at the end of a long low block of 8, and its allocated space involves squeezing down the narrow shared lane past (potentially) 3 parked cars to the end where somehow another 5 are meant to jigsaw in together with no manoeuvring room. We struck lucky off-season in March and there were no other cars at the end for the first 7 days of our stay, but if there had been just one more then that wouldn’t be the case, and there would have been no way to angle to get in or out, even if every car was a small one. Note that on-street parking in Ambleside is (understandably) tightly restricted in all areas and there are no alternatives. It’s unfortunately this reason alone that will stop us returning here which is a real shame as otherwise this was a great little flat and excellent base.

It's a lovely place, well equipped, perfectly clean - everything that you would need. It's fab that it's just a couple of minutes walk into the middle of Ambleside, so it's easy to pop out for shopping, restaurants or go for a drink. The little terrace is an extra bonus, you can see the mountains over the rooftops, lovely place to sit. We loved it and would definitely consider it booking again on a future visit.

Wonderful views, great location and spotlessly clean. Everything is just as described in the property details and all in all it is excellent value for money.

The location is perfect for accessing the town centre with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Very clean, cosy & comfortable apartment.

It’s a lovely cozy apartment near the centre of Ambleside .A couple of minutes walk from the bus stops All the fixtures and fittings are first class. .We have been to several Lakeland Retreat properties and they have all been great. I would recommend people looking for 5 star accommodation in this area to deal with them….they won’t be disappointed.we will defiantly book this property again .

Great location and lovely place to stay in Ambleside. Hidden Gem has all you need for a self catering break and it's located within easy walk of the town centre and great trails. I'd definitely stay here again. Parking is tight (it does warn you) but as long as you don't have a massive SUV there aren't any issues.

This was a great place for two people to stay. Felt very private and was also very close to the centre of Ambleside which made it a perfect location! Would happily stay here again

Wonderful flat and location!

Place was in such an incredible location, so many walks right from the door. Great restaurants and hire places near by and right by a bus stop too. Would stay again if we are ever this side of the world again

This accommodation was just perfect, felt very cosy and homely.Loved the outside seating area. The location in centre of town is great , once we parked up we didn’t need to drive again, we either got the bus or did local walks around Ambleside and shops and restraunts on your doorstep.

Hidden Gem is a great cosy hideaway in Ambleside. Great views from terrace & lounge, perfect location for walking from the apartment to the fells & Ambleside. Ambleside is a few minutes down the convenient steps taking u right into middle of town. A real bonus. Very clean, cosy & comfortable, we hope to return. Thank you.

We loved this secluded little pad, in town but above the throng. It's comfortable and has a great advantage - a west-facing terrace with views to the fells. Its a great spot for walking and we did all 5 of the leisure walks in the guide leaflets provided, directly from the flat. Then we went higher - up to some Pikes with no need to drive at all. The town has some good things too - concerts, jazz nights and cinemas.

Lovely accommodation, looks like the pictures and even more spacious when we arrived! We loved the warm welcome and cosines of the property. The location is perfect for accessing the town centre with lots of shops and restaurants nearby! We also really enjoyed evenings on the patio with wonderful views of the mountains. Thank you!

Great little apartment right in the heart of Ambleside. Had everything we needed for our stay, the boot room was particularly useful given the weather we had.

Amazing location and property with the little details to make you feel welcome as soon as you step into the door! As others have mentioned, parking can be quite tight but that’s to be expected with the central and great location of the property. It was also a little hard for us to find it the first time we arrived but I guess that’s why it’s called the hidden gem! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this property and the host to anyone looking for a place in Ambleside or the Lake District as a whole!

Hidden gem was a beautiful little cottage and as the name implies is a hidden a gem. So peaceful and tranquil and had everything we needed for the week. It was supper clean and comfortable and felt like a home-from-home. I’d definitely return. Walking distance to all the shop and restaurants and the bus stop where you can get the bus to Keswick etc and the pier where you can get the boat to bowness. Perfect location. Cannot fault it! Instructions were very clear and had no issues whatsoever with finding it and the stay itself. Perfect!!

A very cosy apartment with a great central location. The views from the patio were lovely. It had a great bathroom & brilliant large shower. The kitchen was supplied with everything you may need. The gas fire was a lovely addition. Parking is an issue. The spaces are extremely small & we were advised to come in a small car. Unfortunately other guests did not & turned up in Large Range Rovers & 4 x4's. One morning we were unable to access our Ford Fiesta as the vehicles either side had parked so close due to their size. Having a small car really needs to be emphasised when booking. We enjoyed a lovely New Year break. Karen & Adrian Coggins

Beautiful cosy spot, amazingly located in the centre of Ambleside. Beautiful views. Perfect for a couple’s walking holiday.

Great location, has all you need and the balcony overlooking the town is lovely - price was also very reasonable for the location. like many older buildings the sound proofing is pretty poor - no issues when we stayed due to quiet neighbours but could hear their every move!

We (my wife, 2yo and myself) stayed at the property for 10 days during August and our experience was excellent! As also stated in other reviews the location is perfect - central to all amenities of Ambleside (shops, cafès, restaurants), to parks (useful for when you need to entertain kids), and to many hikes with different degree of effort. The flat itself is a cosy space with a great view from the terrace where we relaxed after a full day of hiking. It is clean and very well equipped, no issues at all. The parking space is a bit tight as indicated in the description and other reviews, however should not be an issue if you are in a small / medium car - I drove a Peugeot 3008 and did fine with a bit of manoeuvring. Wouldn't try with anything bigger though. Really enjoyed our stay, 0 issues and definitely recommend it.

Very comfortable cottage with all necessities, had a perfectly good stay. Nice living room, bed and pillows were very comfortable, good quality China and kitchen items provided. Excellent central location, very quick access down to the shops. A few very minor points: alley to car parking space is very narrow and was obstructed by a bigger car parked in the first space so we had to park out on the street. Wi-Fi access is very intermittent, we managed to use Netflix one evening with it never working again for us, but couldn’t work out why. Steps down to the street are very steep and often littered with broken glass so something to be aware of.

Had a great stay in this well appointed apartment. We were very lucky with the weather, so got to enjoy the wee terrace in the evenings, as it gets full sun. As per previous reviews, it’s in a great location with a small car parking space, a large car will struggle to fit. The boot room is great for leaving all your walking gear in, & there are both indoor & outdoor drying facilities if you use the washing machine. I hope to return in the future!

Great location, centre of Ambleside and easy to get to anywhere else in the Lake District. Flat was very comfortable with a great view and a decent kitchen, will visit again.

Very enjoyable stay, perfect location within easy walking of all restaurants in Ambleside. In the evening sitting out on the patio with a glass of wine, enjoying the views made a perfect end to the day.

Really lovely place, great views, very comfortable, very quick access to the town but still nicely tucked away. Parking is tight, so I'd avoid driving here in anything bigger than a Ford focus! Great stay in Ambleside.

The view from the terrace was amazing. Good shower pressure. Super clean. Well equipped. Every thing was excellent except it was a bit difficult to find the place. But we were very happy with our stay and would love to stay there again.

A beautifully located and appointed flat. Surprisingly quiet and rural feeling, despite being in the heart of the town, 5mins walk or less from excellent shops, restaurants, cafes, cinemas and the main bus stop. Stunning views across the town to the open hills plus pedestrian access to walks and longer hikes in all directions. It is on a hillside so be prepared for a steep climb home at the end of each outing, but the views from the patio and lounge make it well worth the climb.

Great location with lovely views, short walk to restaurants and shops. Has everything you could need for your stay, warm and cosy and easy check in. The washing machine and boot room was especially useful

This is a perfect little apartment in the heart of (but well above) Ambleside. It's warm and cosy, so if you're crazy enough to go to the Lakes in February then you can dry all your wet things in the boot room and use the washing machine (detergent provided) whenever you need. Absolutely everything is provided, from the welcome pack of prosecco, hot chocolate, milk etc, to handwash, shampoo, towels and tv with great sound, netflix etc. We loved coming back to this little oasis after a wet walk, and even sat on the terrace a few times, admiring the views.

Great place to stay in Ambleside will definitely recommend. Parking is a bit tight if other cars are in the carpark but it's still accessible.

This is a lovely little apartment overlooking ambleside and perfect for 2. You can be in lovely restaurants in minutes and out on fabulous walks straight from the door. We loved the boot room entrance - made our life much easier. Everything was immaculately clean and when there was a problem it was fixed immediately. Really reassuring to know. Stunning views & a location which puts you right on top of Ambleside. Easy walking distance for all your amenities etc. and was cosy & clean.

A lovely 'bolt hole' for a couple's getaway. Excellent location within a short walk of all the local amenities and some excellent fell walks direct from the front door.

We had a wonderful stay in Ambleside. The location of this property is perfect, we managed to walk to everywhere we wanted to visit. The boot room was great as we did get caught in the rain one day!

Great location, close to centre of Ambleside, yet in a really quiet location above the main road. Superb view from the main room in the property. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and well fitted. There's a useful drying room in the entrance to the property. Highly recommended, I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely little apartment in a fabulous location. Weather wasn't great but we did manage to sit out on the terrace a couple of times and enjoy the beautiful view. Really appreciated the welcome gifts, very nice touch. Will echo other people's comments about the car parking, could be difficult if the other parking spaces were occupied, thankfully for us there was only one other car.

This was a great place to stay! Right in the heart of Ambleside but tucked away so that it felt perfect for a couples’ stay! The views from the living room and outside terrace were spectacular!

You couldn’t give this apartment a more appropriate name! It really is in a secret position just off the high street, but so convenient to access everything that is on your doorstep. The accommodation was appointed to a very high standard with quality fixtures and fitting, but best of all was the lovely South west facing patio that we enjoyed late into the evening.

Highly recommended. The apartment is ideally located has everything you need including a very handy parking space. The place was spotless on our arrival and the terrace was a lovely spot to have breakfast or drink in the evening. 5/5

This property couldn't have been better situated. Very near to all the shops and restaurants. Lovely views of the surrounding hills. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Lovely touch to have a few treats left for us. The property has a parking space along a really narrow road. Could be a problem if you have a larger car.

Hidden Gem was the loveliest apartment for a couple in the perfect location! Near to the centre of Ambleside and all the creature comforts, yet right on the doorstep of the Lakes. Flat was very clean and the surprise additions were a lovely and appreciated touch. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Great find in Ambleside, cozy but perfect for a couple for a few days stay and had everything we needed. Everything was spotlessly clean and check-in and out was smooth with clear instructions provided beforehand. The flat is located above the Main Street in Ambleside with easy access to walk down via some steps, which was super convenient - no need to drive to pubs, supermarket etc. Getting in and out of the car park at the flat was a bit challenging when it was full so wouldn’t recommend bringing a large car. Ambleside is a great base for exploring the Lake District and we would happily stay at Hidden Cottage again.

A very clean, thought out, stylish apartment which had lovely finishing touches, appliances and everything you needed to make it feel like a home from home. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the terrace, at a evening, looking at the views and wildlife. Location was great - very close to town and walking routes.
