Second visit to Garden cottage and really enjoyed the week. Despite being peak season, was still quiet area. Plenty of accessible walks on the doorstep and Ambleside had plenty of good restaurants and other amenities. Can thoroughly recommend as place for singles and couples to have a quiet holiday

The cottage is small but ideal for us 2 and our 2 dogs. It was an ideal central location to get around. Everything was clean and tidy with lovely decor. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well after all our hiking. Kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. Fenced garden was ideal for our dogs, could let them out with no worries. All in all a very enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

We did have a little trouble finding the cottage as it cannot be seen from the road but when found it was everything we could of wished for very clean and a welcome bottle of presence which was appreciated after a very long journey, the views were stunning and great walks, we couldn’t of wished to be in a better place.

Garden Cottage is great, perfect for two people and two dogs! The cottage is private and quiet, comfortable and cosy. There are fabulous walks right on the doorstep and you're right in the Lake District (what more could you want)! Ambleside and Grasmere are a short drive (or walk) from the cottage and are lovely.

Fantastic little home from home. Great location for exploring. Many opportunities to walk from the door. Courtyard isn’t the best for dogs, but plenty of room to the front of the property to provide them with the chance to stretch their legs. Underfloor heating a lovely touch, especially after a day walking in the rain

Really cute cottage with great walks on the doorstep. Secure garden but the dog next door barking upset my dog so we didn't get the full potential but it was lovely if a little chilly due to the heating. Would make a really lovely holiday with drier weather and lovely and cool in summer

A lovely little property which was ideal for me, my husband and our two small dogs. The enclosed yard at the back was a bonus, so we could leave the dogs to wander outside safely. Inside we had everything we needed and more. Even the weather was one of the hottest weeks of the year (thanks for organising that!) Highly recommended.

Wonderful little stone cottage outside of the main area of Ambleside. Great facilities and everything you need for a short break including good Wi-Fi if you really feel you must stay connected with the rest of the world. Ambleside has plenty to offer for restaurants for breakfast through to dinner if you don’t want to cook yourself. Would suit couple or singletons with or without dog. Great for cyclists and walkers with easy access to Hawkshead, Windermere, Coniston and the southern lakes. Can thoroughly recommend Garden Cottage for a weekend or longer.

Very well located for walks in the beautiful Langdales (the path in front of the house takes you right up the side of Windermere and there’s another walk from the back garden) and a range of great pubs nearby. It is on a road but it is not intrusive. Great views over the fells from the main bedroom. Lovely slate floors downstairs, lots of character.

Garden cottage was a lovely place, once we found it we were allowed to store our bike in the shed whilst we went for a walk because we were an hour early. approx 2 mile walk into Ambleside which wasn’t a problem for us but anyone thinking it’s closer may be caught out. We lost hot water and had to call the out of hours number, however the plumber called us back straight away and with a few photos sent of the boiler gauges (it had lost it’s pressure) we were back in business. Kitchen utensils and crockery etc were aplenty. Bottle of fizz was a bonus. Lovely courtyard for pets and great shed storage. For the ‘out of season’ price we paid we would definitely stay again.

Wow - what a lovely little property! We had an unfortunate call en route to our original location where we were notified there was an issue with our property but we were given multiple options to choose from as a replacement venue and this little cottage did not disappoint! It was perfect for our little dachshund, nice penned off back yard and lovely views of the sheep from the rear. Waking up and being able to take our dog straight to a big hill and field was lovely. We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends! Lovely little touches such as milk, tea, coffee, and even a bottle of bubbly made it that little bit more special. Perfect for our Christmas break.

Garden Cottage is the perfect location, very close to Ambleside with lovely walks right on the doorstep. The cottage itself is very well equipped with all modern conveniences, very clean and plenty big enough for the two of us and our two dogs. A fenced area at the rear made it very easy to let the dogs out in safety. Could not recommend highly enough.
