Fisherbeck was in the perfect location with easy access to Ambleside and the Lakes. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable family holiday.

Overall we had a very comfortable stay at Fisherbeck. It's the middle property of 3 but is very quiet, as is the area. It is in a very good location about 5-8 min from the town centre, the walk back is up a small hill, but it's in the Lake District so no surprises there. The footpath to Wansfell is at the end of the street and you can access Stockley Ghyll waterfall via this. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable. The pillows a bit less so, if pernickety you might want to take one of your own. The outside safety light seemed to have a mind of its own coming on randomly in the day and night. There's a small non secure porch to hang wet things up. There is a small seating area at the front with a table and chairs, which catches the sun in the afternoon and has views of Loughrigg. There are seats at the back which get the sun earlier in the day. The hot water worked fine with a large bath and separate shower. There are walking books including a full set of Wainright guides. There is a dvd player. The description stated there was a bluetooth speaker but it was not present so take one of your own. The lounge seating was comfortable. The staff were helpful and responsive to any queries. I'd happily stay there again or recommend it to friends.

I stayed with my pregants wife, 18 mobth old and dog. Great place with all the facilities for cooking etc. Very close to town and great views. Spent a week there and could gave spent longer. I needed a high chair and it was delivered promptly.

We (a family of 3) spent a lovely weekend at Fisherbeck. The house is no more than a 5 minute walk from the centre of Ambleside so really good for the shops, bars and restaurants, but peaceful at night time. The house was nice and warm when we arrived and had the essentials we needed. Internet was good speed, and there was access to Sky TV if you wanted. One of the reasons we also chose the property was because it had an EV charger which worked brilliantly and without a hitch. Would happily stay again next time we're in the area.

4th visit to this very cosy cottage. A good size with plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen. Very spacious comfortable bedrooms with lots of wardrobes and drawers. 5 minute walk into Ambleside. Own private drive so parking is easy. Small gated back garden /patio area so great if you have a dog. This doesn’t look like a traditional lakeland cottage from the outside but don’t let this put you off. It’s got everything you need and more.

Just came home from here today 25-2-22.
Was not sure what to expect, but very surprised on arrival. The cottage (middle one of three) was warm, lit and cosy warm on arrival which is a bonus in February. Everything we needed was to hand in the cottage. Although it was in the middle we heard nothing from the neighbors (also guests) who had young children. The cottage is close to the village but not too close. We both got hooked on the mints left for us, sorry if there are not many left. We will be coming back and not just for the mints, loved it!

An ideal location for exploring the Lake District, it’s a terraced house with two other rentals either side, and shared drive / outdoor area. Everything is clean and sofas are super comfy. We spent most of our time outside exploring. It’s a short walk into Ambleside, a lovely town with a real buzz. The house is set below Wansfell Pike a great place to view the sunsets and Lake Windermere.

Incredible home and so perfect for us. We loved the well stocked kitchen (all the pots and kitchen utensils you need!) and so immaculately clean. The house is very thoughtfully furnished and such a treat to settle in for a few days. Location is perfect for exploring Lake District and the walking trail beginning from the end of the street leads to some incredible views.

A lovely home ideally situated between the town centre and the waters edge. Dedicated parking really useful – although the car didn’t move! We went everywhere on foot which was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend

Being so near great hiking routes was fantastic, and when the weather wasn’t so great we were kept entertained with the boardgames and books available. I would definitely recommend this place. We enjoyed our stay in Ambleside. The property's selling point is that there are two parking spaces and only a small walk to the centre with all of the cafes/l,restaurants and shops. There are nice trails on the doorstep towards Wansfell if you head in the other direction. The kitchen was also stocked well enough for our needs. Some of the door handles and furniture need a bit of TLC.

Great place, especially as there is parking to the front of the house. Location ideal not far from centre, however be warned bout bank to walk up, but banks are to be expected in the lakes. Property very clean, but outside balcony ground and furniture needs cleaning. Gardens front and back need TLC. Beds very comfy. Sky TV, DVD’s, books if you like a read Would we stay again definitely

Loved our stay. Easy walking distance into Ambleside, although it is on a steep hill. The property can be accessed from front and back which caused a bit of confusion finding the keysafe and knowing which property is which but all sorted very easily. It had everything we needed, beds were comfortable and it was clean. Fantastic, Thank you.

A quiet location and handy for the centre of Ambleside and the ferry, if you are ok with a steep walk just before the property. If you like a good shower, you’ll be disappointed. Similar if you want to cook, one frying pan which is the worse for ware. A very comfortable lounge with Sky TV was really useful after a day’s walking!

A lovely quiet location, ample parking, good sized bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, great comms and easy check-in/ out. We really appreciated that a cot and high chair was able to be provided.
As advertised, the cottage allows pets so if you have allergies to dog hair it’s worth considering this.

You can't go wrong selecting this wonderful house in a perfect location. Ambleside has a great deal to offer in terms of good restaurants, access to hiking, and other local attractions. We found the best bread bakery to be a few miles up the road at Chesters. A woman in Granny Smiths, the local health food store, sent us there. Enjoy your stay. Margaret, a walker and foodie

Spotless & homely, we loved our stay at Fisherbeck. Essentials such as cleaning products and linens all left out for us along with the special touch of the owners supporting a local charity through small change donations if you break any glasses! Appliances were all quality brands and easy to use. WiFi has great reception throughout. The location is great with a short walk into town. Even with the hill it’s manageable. Ambleside is full of gorgeous places to eat, but we’d recommend booking in busy season if you’re out for dinner! We’d recommend Misto for a stylish, but laid back family friendly Italian and the Copper Pot for a stunning breakfast. There’s so much to do with kids too in the area, we could have done with another few days to visit all the places we wanted to - we’ll definitely be back!”

Fisherbeck is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Lake District. It is a couple blocks from the hustle and bustle of Ambleside and provides sweeping views from the balcony of the surrounding area. Additionally, if you leave your windows open at night you can be woken up by bleating sheep and singing birds. My wife and I fell in love with the Lake District during this stay and staying in Fisherbeck helped facilitate that. Down to brass tacks, the place was extremely clean and well cared for. We appreciated all the amenities, including the washer/dryer combo. All the furniture is comfortable and clean. We would gladly stay again. A note for people who may have trouble getting around: Fisherbeck is on a hill and there are a number of stairs in the home. This shouldn't be a surprise as it's in the Lake District and all

Arriving on Saturday night we found the keys thoughtfully arranged in the key box in arrival order. The cottage was perfect for the needs of a mother, a tween and Echo, our collie cross. It was clean and comfortable. A short walk up the hill took us to the path to the waterfalls. A good selection of dvds were perfect for rainy days.

We had a lovely stay in one of the cottages in Ambleside, slightly off the main road for more privacy and tranquility but within walking distance of all the town's amenities. We liked the small front and back terraces as well as the good equipment in the kitchen. If we were to stay in Ambleside once again we would probably return to this place.
