Through to the family lounge room with comfy sofas arranged in front of the wood burning stove which is set in a striking Inglenook. A hallway leads to the rear garden and to the first floor where there’s a modern-day bathroom with power shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. A neat twin bedroom has built-in storage with a woodland outlook whilst the spacious kingsize sits at the front of the house and enjoys views over the garden to the sheep dotted fields beyond.

All of the properties at Pullwood Bay can enjoy half a mile of private lake frontage, perfect for enjoying a picnic at the water’s edge whilst taking in the glorious views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range. A lovely semi detached house on the private Pullwood Estate, about 10 minutes walk from the lake. The place was clean, warm, cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. We had everything we needed for our stay. We saw plenty of deer and rabbits in the grounds while we were there while each morning the area was alive with bird song. Situated about a five-minute drive from Ambleside in one direction and Hawkshead in the other, the place was ideal for touring the Central Lakes. I even managed to catch a couple of perch while fishing from the private jetty situated next to the main house! Overall- we had a great time.

The house was in a wonderful setting and very cosy, we were asked if we wanted to check in early as the cottage was ready before “check in” which was lovely, even though we got stuck in traffic and couldn’t actually get there any early, everything was perfect apart from the uncomfortable sofa, and the pre set heating just wasn’t enough for the cold snap we had; but this is honestly the only thing I would say that could be improved. All in all we would return if the sofa was just something you could relax on.

A nice cottage. Excellent central location in the Lakes which is good for Ambleside, Grasmere and lots of walks. The private land and access to Lake Windermere was very nice and there is a lovely 45 minute walk to Wray Castle. Classic Lake District cottage. A little darker than some others we have stayed in but that is part of the character. We had requested a travel cot and high chair for our baby. Whilst the person setting up had forgot to leave them out the host was very quick in responding to our messages and they were there within a couple of hours. Overall we had a lovely week. Thank you!

If you’re expecting 5 star luxury, then Fieldside is not for you. However, if you want a wonderful base, idyllic location for fantastic scenic walks to Hawkshead, Ambleside and Wray Castle to name but a few, then this cottage is a 10/10! We loved Fieldside- a very clean, comfortable and characterful cottage in an extremely quiet, private setting with lovely views and importantly for us it was very practical for dogs. The Pullwood Bay Estate is gorgeous and sitting on the bench on the jetty looking out on to Lake Windermere was a particular highlight. We highly recommend Fieldside and Lakeland Retreats. ?????????? Thank you. Annabell, Nick and Anna

Lovely stay at Fieldside in the gorgeous location of Pullwood bay. Fieldside had everything we needed for a much needed vacation. When our rubbish had not been collected I contacted Lakeland Retreats and they had it removed in minutes. We will definitely be going back to Fieldside especially as it allows dogs. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
