Amenities - everything as described. The bath in the bedroom was a dream after long walks. Bed was soft and comfortable, heating was on when we arrived which was lovely for a rainy Friday. Location - perfect. You’re in a beautiful little town with plenty of shops, bakery’s, pubs and restaurants. We read a review about noise from the local but pub on the doorstep but we didn’t hear anything. Night times were peaceful with mornings being even more peaceful.

Really great cottage, in an amazing location. Central to Ambleside so close to all shops and pubs. Great as a base for exploring the Lake District and getting out and about.

We absolutely loved the cottage, it had everything we needed and was a stones throw from all of the shops/pubs/restaurants as well as the fantastic walks. Everything was very well organised including keys and parking pass and the bottle of Prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch! We will be visiting again 🙂

We spent 3 nights in the amazing Fellcroft. It is the perfect base for exploring the local area. Close to the many pubs, restaurants and shops! The cottage has so many original features and is tastefully decorated, with everything you could possibly need! We cannot wait to return and will highly recommend Fellcroft and Lakeland retreats to friends and family.. thank you again.

Overall a nice stay in Fellcroft cottage. It’s situated right in the centre of Ambleside, next to lots of shops and restaurants. This does mean that parking isn’t available, however a permit is provided which can be used in three, 24-hour car parks (if you can find a space). The cottage is warm and was very clean upon arrival, with a fully-equipped kitchen. We also particularly liked the bath in the bedroom, which was a nice touch. Being so close to bars does mean noise from karaoke and drunk people walking home, so I’d suggest bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. It would have been nice to have a few things to help us settle in quicker, like hand soap, shower gel, shampoo etc which we had to go and buy from Co-op. Being an older property, there are a few other quirks such as low water pressure however, this isn’t a huge issue, just something to bear in mind. I would consider staying here again in the future.

Fantastic quirky cottage perfect for two people. We stayed for New Year and from the phone call to confirm the cottage was ready with a welcome pack inside to locking the door and leaving it was exceptional. The kitchen is well equipped with everything to hand, the lounge is comfortable and cosy and the bedroom spacious. The location in the centre of Ambleside has everything within a two minute walk with 2 pubs and the butchers on your doorstep.

Lovely place, was perfect for the 2 of us. Close to town and everything we wanted to do. Lovely restaurants nearby too. No faults from us and would definitely stay here again, well equipped and spotless inside.

My partner and I stayed here for the week and highly recommend it. After hiking all day it was a wonderful destination to come home too. Very homely and cosy. Will definitely stay again next time we are in the area. Thankyou once again

Just returned from a lovely few days away and will definitely be returning. It's an ideal central location. However, noise was no issue. The cottage is full of traditional charm and feels lovely and homely. Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions, and had left a bottle of prosecco for our arrival, which was very thoughtful. No issues recommending this little gem x

We had the most incredible stay at the charming 3-story house in Ambleside, Cumbria! From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in for a treat. The house itself is a hidden gem, exuding character and warmth in every corner. One of the highlights of my stay was the luxurious roll-top bath that awaited us after a day of exploring the picturesque surroundings. It was like stepping into a haven of relaxation – the perfect way to unwind. The attention to detail was evident, and I truly appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into providing such a delightful experience. Speaking of the surroundings, the location of the house was absolutely unbeatable. Nestled in the heart of Ambleside, we were just a stone's throw away from all the local attractions, shops, and charming cafes. The convenience of being able to explore the area on foot added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. I can't thank the hosts enough for their warm hospitality and impeccable taste.

A wonderful, cosy and perfectly central location for Ambleside. We had a wonderful time, loads of places to eat and drink on your door step as well as walks straight from the door. Even the rain can't stop you enjoying your time here. We will definitely come back!

We had a lovely week staying in ambleside, being located directly in the heart of the town the environment was astonishing and the amenities were exceptional. Our time here was made easier by the fantastic people we decided to book with, brilliant customer service, quick and to the point. Makes all the little things that much easier, allowing us to enjoy our stay that much more.

Michelle has been brilliant. Any queries were answered really quickly. They were also super helpful with our check in. The cottage is in a superb area for walks, cafes, restaurants and pubs. We don’t have a car and found the location of the cottage perfect for our needs and for getting around further afield on the amazing Stagecoach Lakes Bus service. As stated the cottage has a couple of narrow staircases, so bear that in mind if you are not so steady on your feet. Everything we needed was catered for and the cottage was a lovely place to relax at the end of our walks. Thank you Michelle for a lovely week away !!

A beautiful little cottage so close to the centre of Ambleside. Lovely wood burning fire, bath in the bedroom was so relaxing. Overall lovely romantic get away!

Lovely three story cottage tucked away on a quiet street opposite a butchers which was great. lots of character, nice kitchen, loved the slow cooker, and cosy log burner.

Great location next to great pubs and restaurants. The house had everything you needed if wanted to cook and stay in. Great walks on the doorstep. We will be back. We've been going to Ambleside for years, this was great little find!!! Well done Michelle 👍

Lovely cottage, clean and cosy and perfect location for exploring the lakes. We managed to get a slight discount for last minute booking, and also a slightly later check out than normal so we could watch some of the Queens funeral. We had a lovely time and would recommend.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Ambleside. Exactly as shown in the pictures and with everything needed for a short stay. Bonus feature was finding the TV had a Chromecast attached to enable me to stream from my phone. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

This property was exactly as it looked in the pictures, traditional and cosy and the three floors made it unusual. The 2 flights of stairs were quite steep so not a place to stay if you have mobility issues but nevertheless charming and in keeping with the style of the cottage. The roll top bath in the bedroom and the shower on the floor below meant we could both get ready to go out at the same which was great and the lounge area on the middle floor had a log burner which was lovely. (My other half was even going to light it one cooler morning, so keen was he to use it- but fortunately I reminded him the forecast was for almost a heatwave!) I was in contact with various people via the site several times before our arrival and they always responded quickly and were able to answer my questions easily. Due the the location parking was necessary elsewhere, though only a 10 minute walk, so the permit was a godsend. Ambleside is a gorgeous part of the country, especially during the weather we had and I would love to visit there again and stay in this home again.

A really sweet cottage in the heart of Ambleside. The parking permit was very much appreciated & made life a lot easier. There was room to load/unload the car next to the cottage before whisking it away to the car park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only slight critique is that check in is quite late at 4pm.

This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway, my wife and I can not fault a thing! Ideal for a walk into Ambleside and never too far from a car park (permit was much appreciated) Lovely kitchen and cozy living room, the roll top bath is the cherry on the top!

Fellcroft is a gem of a place to stay in Ambleside. Everything you need for a comfortable trip is provided, from a full kitchen to logs for the fire — even a selection of great movies (like the Cornetto Trilogy). And the location couldn’t have been better, set just off the main road, it’s minutes away from all restaurants and pubs. We spent a great week here hiking and exploring.

Great little cozy cottage in the heart of Ambleside. A quick walk to everything. The parking permit was incredibly useful even if you are going to nearby areas! Just a note that the building does have low water pressure so the shower head isn’t very powerful. Would still recommend staying here!

Lovely stay in this cottage, would be happy to return. Very central location, easy access for other towns and exploring the area. Only downside is that there is no parking on site or nearby. There is a parking permit provided but the public car park is around a 10 min walk away.

Home from home...every detail has been considered.All rooms are spacious and comfortable Two pubs a mere stones throw away...what more could you ask for? I usually base myself in Windermere while visiting the Lakes but I think Ambleside will be my new go to spot The parking permit for the large car park around the corner is a big bonus and the welcome hamper was a nice touch I would definitely stay at Fellcroft again

Good location and kitted out well!

We had a great time at the cottage, with the bath a real bonus! Everything was as described and more and we had a perfect restful few days. The location is great, really close to everything you could need, whilst still quiet and easy to access some fabulous walks around the area (we walked past the caves and into Grasmere which was great!). The place was clean, warm and cosy and check-in/check-out was super straightforward. Having the car permit was also super handy with Ambleside otherwise very busy for parking! Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway!!

We had the best stay in the Lakes at Fellcroft. It was lovely coming back and chilling after a long day walking in the mountains. It felt like a home from home and was the perfect location – right in the heart of Ambleside. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. We couldn’t have wished for anything more. Fellcroft was a lovely cottage to stay in during our time at the Lakes. It had everything we needed and it was in a great location. It felt really homely coming back there after a day exploring. It was great having a parking permit.

Great location for exploring. Lots of walks from the doorstep. Bumbles Rest Café just passed the old bridge at the end of the road does amazing vegan sausage rolls! A very quaint town with loads of food options.

Both Fellcroft and Michelle are fabulous! Fellcroft is a lovely little cottage that has everything you should need – special shout out to the bath which was a god send after a long trek in the lakes. What a lovely little place located perfectly for everything you could need within walking distance (the car didn’t leave the car park all week). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely look at coming back again one day.

We absolutely loved this cottage! It was our first time in the lakes in April when the restrictions first lifted and it was definitely a well deserved break with the both of us working on critical care over the pandemic. Fellcroft had everything we needed and more. Situated in a lovely village called Ambleside, which was in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit whilst we was in the lakes. Just popped onto the website to look at availability for next year at the same cottage as we enjoyed it so much!

Such a cute and cozy cottage in a great location! Loved Ambleside itself too. We had everything we needed and the welcome hamper was such a lovely touch. We stayed here for our babymoon and it was perfect. The only thing I would say is that I didn’t read about the amount of stairs! Being heavily pregnant it was a bit of a workout with all my toilet trips in the night. This did not detract from our stay though! I would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay. We also got some delicious produce from the butchers opposite the cottage. Thanks for a great stay!

The cottage is cosy, welcoming and well-appointed. It was perfect for a relaxing break for my husband and I. The location is excellent, a quiet street but only minutes walk from all the shops, restaurants and facilities of Ambleside. There are also a number of walks that can be accessed directly from the cottage. Perfect! We’ll be back.

What an amazing week we had at fellcroft cottage. Such a cosy place, and great base for us to stay after a day walking, or exploring. The cottage had everything we needed, and more. Plus a lovely welcome hamper from the hosts. Location was fab, near to all the pubs, cafes, restaurants etc. Recommend the royal oak, and golden rule for a pint or 2. And bar es for some yummy tapas. So many different walks right on your doorstep. With stunning views. There was so much to do and see, we could have easily stayed another week.

This private cottage is in an ideal location. Everything you could wish for is provided. We had a wonderful time and would be happy to return in the future.

Fellcroft is the most amazing cottage and in the most amazing location. It served as a great base for us as we explored the lakes! Very well equipped and spotlessly clean, we felt like we were right at home. Plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants nearby made it a perfect choice – just a short stroll for dinner of an evening allowing us both to enjoy a gin or 2! Zeffirellis for pizza and the cinema was perfect, the priest hole was lovely for a special birthday meal for my husband. The parking permit for south makes car parks was a god send, teamed with out national trust membership we didn’t have to pay for much parking at all! Would recommend travelling to the Lakes Gin distillery – amazing! We bought a keepsake bottle of gin to remind us of our minimoon we spent in the lakes during this week. Sad to have returned home but would love to come back and stay at fellcroft again so we can explore all the places and try all the restaurants we didn’t have time to this week

This very sweet cottage provided a great stay. The location is fantastic – very close to pubs/shops and everything you will need, but it also provided a great base to experience the beautiful walks that the Lakes has to offer. The check-in/check-out process was seamless, and lovely welcome pack was provided which got us off to a great start (along with a bottle of wine which was very much enjoyed!) The cottage is set across 3 floors, and the bedroom on the top floor was beautiful – the bath was certainly needed after some rather long walks! Overall a lovely stay, and highly recommended to anyone wanting to experience Ambleside

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, in an amazing location. If you want a romantic stay in Ambleside then you must stay here….. it’s fabulous!
