Spacious living and dining areas and large colourful gardens

From the car park, enter Far Nook from the side through a small porch area with hanging and boot space and into a sunny snug. Beyond here lies the main hallway with original staircase and parquet flooring. If you need some quiet space to work during your holiday, head to the home office tucked off the hallway. The utility houses the washer and dryer and has a handy cloakroom beyond with WC and there’s a good-sized boot room for all your outdoor equipment – a fridge freezer is also in here.

Choose from two beautiful lounge rooms to relax in, one with a wood-burning stove and the other with an electric flame effect heater as well as a Smart TV with a Netflix subscription. There is a delightful ground floor kingsize bedroom with TV and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower.

Now through to the glorious social space that is the kitchen/diner – the kitchen offers an excellent array of equipment including a huge range cooker with electric ovens and 5 ring gas hob, dishwasher, large fridge and dishwasher. The dining table is plenty big enough for all of your party and we’re sure that every opportunity will be taken to open the bi-fold doors and let the outside in.

Moving upstairs to the first floor, you’ll find three spacious and comfortable bedrooms, each prettily decorated, the twin and kingsize each with en-suite shower facilities room whilst the double bedroom at the front of the house sits opposite the house bathroom.

Outside, the large, colourful gardens are a mix of lawn and patio areas with strategically placed table and chairs. There’s off-road, private parking for three cars in the car park to the front with further parking available for another two vehicles on the driveway.

House was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and great position for walks and to walk into beautiful Ambleside. We never used the car once in the week we were there. 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms made this a perfect property to have a relaxing holiday with extended family. I would highly recommend this property.

Excellent property and location. The kitchen had everything you would need. 2 baths and plenty of showers for 8 people. Comfy beds and lovely garden, although we didn't use much due to the time of year.

Couldn’t find any fault with the property. Home from home, comfortable spacious and clean. Perfect location on the edge of town a few minutes from restaurants and shops. Great walks within easy reach too.

Our first visit to Far Nook but I am sure not our last to this lovely house. Great location for walking into Ambleside. It is near a road but this is not busy at night and didn't impact our stay at all. It was a quiet area when we visited. Having a bedroom downstairs was great, as our eighteen year old son used this whilst we were upstairs and it was nice to have some space between us. We really didn't want to leave and come home!

We had a lovely stay for the first time in Ambleside. This was the perfect location and an incredible accomodation. The host was so responsive. The only downside was that we couldn't stay for longer and extend our checkout. Will be hoping to stay here again .

Our first visit to Far Nook. A really impressive house, very spacious and extremely well equipped. Excellent location for walking into the town and plenty of walks nearby. A lovely garden with good views to relax in and plenty of room for the children to play. The little office was very useful.

Lovely old property, very spacious, and comfortable. Kitchen is very good, well equipped and worked well for our family get together. It was a fantastic location, very quick and easy to walk into Ambleside Centre. The garden was lovely to sit and relax when the sun shined. It would have been useful to have a welcome food pack and perhaps some basics like oil, kitchen rolls etc. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend for a family holiday.

We loved our stay at Far Nook. The house was spacious and well equipped and we loved how convenient it was to the centre of Ambleside. Communication from the owner was quick and helpful. We really loved the welcome pack containing bread, milk, etc. Would definitely book again.

We booked Far Nook for a big trans-Atlantic family reunion and this was the perfect property for us.. the space is brilliant - loads of room for big gatherings but lots of smaller spaces for people to have their own space too. The house is really comfortable with loads of thoughtful touches and one of the best equipped kitchens we’ve seen. The gardens are beautiful - with even a Summer house for those occasional wet Lake District days!. The location is really convenient, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a larger property.

We stayed at Far nook for one week from 12 August 22. The house is excellent, well equipped with everything you could need. Clean and well kept, lots of space for a family get together. Plenty of space to park cars.We had hot weather for the majority of the week, so made use of the incredible, mature garden. Lots of places to sit in the shade, garden furniture provided with a large umbrella. My granddaughter loved it, lots of hiding places. It was also well looked after. The house is just on the edge of the village, very convenient for eating, shopping, catching the bus etcThe only negative was the WiFi was down for the whole week, which made the younger generation unhappy! But I have to say it was reported and we were kept well informed of the situation. It turned out to be a large external fault and a poor response from the internet provider. Obviously the owners, nor Lakeland Retreats could not be held responsible for the problem. We have stayed in this area, in August for many years now, this is one of the best houses we have stayed in. I would highly recommend it.

Far Nook is perfect. Clean, spacious and so comfortable - exceptionally well equipped - our party of 8 adults have just returned from a glorious week. The house is in a great location for Ambleside amenities and the gardens are wonderful after a day out to relax in. Far Nook would be hard to beat !! Thank you.

What a lovely place . The house is clean, comfortable and spacious with beautiful furnishings, and everything you need . We had sunny weather so enjoyed a seat in the lovely private garden with a morning cuppa. Also a nice welcome box on arrival , lovely touch. The location is perfect, able to walk into town easily (10 minutes) and also used the bus service to Windermere to save driving and parking. Really enjoyed the family time and looking to return next year .
