A recently re-modelled kitchen diner to the rear is fitted with all the modern-day conveniences you’ll need to cook up a hearty meal and a useful utility beyond here has ample space for walking gear and leads directly to the outside rear courtyard with seating and secure bike storage.
On the first floor sit three bedrooms, a twin, a single and a double along with a small shower room on the half landing. A further, large kingsize room sits on the second floor alongside a very spacious en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath, hand basin and WC.
Outside, a fully enclosed courtyard has furniture provided so why not bring your own BBQ and enjoy an alfresco meal in the warmer months. Secure bike storage is available and parking for one car is available by way of a permit for use on the nearby SLDC car park.

Just returned home from a lovely stay at Derby Cottage. We were a group of 5 adults 1 child and a baby. There was plenty of space for all of us, the courtyard was an excellent additional space that we enjoyed in the sunshine.

We had a lovely stay in centre of Ambleside which is great place for some lovely walks. Home was well equipped and comfortable. Parking a bit tricky when unloading or loading (unless one of the on road spaces outside happens to be free) but it’s appreciated that a parking permit for the car parks is provided. Quite a busy road but were not bothered by the road noise.

Cottage was spacious and clean and check in was easy. Not having a designated parking spot was not a problem since a parking pass was provided. This was a great location. We would definitely stay here again.

Super cosy, well-stocked, spacious and clean! The hosts were brilliant with instructions and suggestions ahead of the trip and communication was smooth too. There were really thoughtful touches provided as well, like the bottle of champagne! We had a great time at Ambleside and cod easily access most of what it had to offer due to the location of the cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Great cottage for enjoying Amblesides shopping, bars and restaurants. Also convenient for the bus station. The only disadvantage is not having a designated parking space, but we were able to unload and load our vehicle easily using the restricted parking outside. We had a great time in spite of the constant rain - the waterfall was spectacular

Derby cottage is located in the centre of Ambleside, a short walk to the shops and amenities and the start of many hill walks. Restaurants, cafes and a cinema are all nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can wholeheartedly recommend this lovely cottage. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable with a large kitchen, lounge and the added bonus of a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There are 4 bedrooms over 2 floors and the beds were very comfortable.We could not fault the cottage; it was perfect for our holiday and we look forward to returning again.

Derby Cottage is a lovely cottage in a fab location in Ambleside, perfectly situated close to the shops and restaurants etc. The cottage itself is great, it was the perfect size for our family of 5. Beds were all comfy and the lounge very cosy. The washing machine and tumble dryer were handy to have, and a dishwasher! The cottage is in a great location to explore the lakes and not too far from Ambleside pier. Plenty of water sports on offer as well as many beautiful walks up the fells. We had a great week, thank you.

Michelles place was fantastic. Clean and tidy house with all the amenities we needed for a great stay. Fab location in central Ambleside. Although be warned it is tricky to find a spot to pull up outside to drop your belongings. All in all a fantastic stay.

Our hosts were very responsive throughout. There was milk in the fridge and a bottle of Prosecco when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Derby Cottage itself was clean and the kitchen was well equipped.

Pretty cottage in a very central location in Ambleside. Everything worked as it should and we enjoyed a lovely long weekend there taking part in a trail run. They even put the sun on for us!
