Had a lovely stay at Cottontail Cottage, it was very homely and clean. It’s a great base for getting into the Lake District and Staveley is the perfect village with all its amenities and walks. I would note that if you are visiting with your dog, the communal garden is not very dog friendly with a neighbour leaving passive aggressive note outside the back door after taking my dog out one morning to do her business (she was on a short lead and her toileting was picked up straight away). Other than that we could not fault our stay :)

Cosy and comfortable cottage, close to the centre of Staveley. Cottage had everything we needed for eating in. Directions and communications were clear and friendly. Staveley has a good coffee shop and bakery, a friendly pub, excellent fish and chip shop, and a fab brewery with a bar. Plenty of walks from the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay at Cottontail Cottage. It was perfect for our family of 3, plus dog. The cottage is in the village, so a very short walk to everything you might need - a Spar for a food shop (open until 9pm), pharmacy, butcher, bakery, pub, cafés, playground, chip shop, gelaterie, etc. Staveley Mill Yard was delightful - with a community volunteer-run not-for-profit shop (Big Onion) selling locally grown food and hand-made crafts, a chocolatier, Hawkshead Brewery, Wilf’s Café, and More?, an artisan bakery and café. Also, lovely walks right from your door - into the village, and along the river, or further afield, up the Kentmere valley, and on local low fells. The cottage was clean, well-kitted out, and full of character (whilst having modern amenities, for a comfortable stay). It was lovely and warm and we could adjust the heating via a Nest control. Many thoughtful touches - local maps, books, games provided. We would love to come and stay another time. Many thanks!

Great location away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere but easily accessible. Great local amenities including a brewery with taproom, nice pub, butchers, bakers, cafe and chippy. Ideal for us as a family with a baby and a dog to come in after a day out walking in the wet weather. Walks from the village.

Cottage had everything we needed and was a great base for our trip to the lakes. The local village also had some useful sites with a store, a butchers, a great local brewery/pub and an ice cream shop that the kids loved. Only a short drive to Kendal or Windermere for supplies and easy to find your way around the area in general

Lovely cosy cottage which exceeded our expectations size wise. Perfect location for short drives to windermere and kendal. Great local shops in walking distance. Great to have a parking space outside. Cleaner arrived at 09.45 to check out felt slightly early given check in isn’t accepted until 1600, only downside as feel like you are losing a day either side. Would come again. Dogs loved it.

A lovely cottage, in a fantastic location. we loved our stay here, and enjoyed using it as a base for some incredible walks. The only slight problem was how uncomfortable the double bed was. Overall a lovely stay though.

Lovely stay at Cottontails. Good location, not to far to travel to all the main locations or you can just walk and cycle from the village. Staveley had everything we needed, cafes, shop, chemist and of course a good village pub.

We decided to do our bit on our carbon footprint and do the Lakes on public transport. This cottage is ideally located for bus and train transport. we were here for 4 nights and saw everything and did every walk we planned. The cottage is very cute and comfortable with the added extra of NOW TV for a lazy evening with sore feet up on the sofa. The village itself has lots of amenities, artisan coffee shops and bakeries, a local pub with good pub food, a local micro brewery with bar and a chippy yo name a few

We had a very happy stay in the very cosy and comfortable Cottontails Cottage. It's perfectly situated 5 minutes from all the shops in Staveley village which has all the amenities you could want, particularly a fantastic bakery. The cottage is situation at the end of a very picturesque lane with a green in the middle with sheep grazing. At the back there's a small communal garden and the neighbours were very friendly. The cottage was a good enough size for a family of 4 and when we had any questions, we got very quick responses from the owner.

Had a great stay at Cottontail Cottage and the location in the pretty village of Stavely was perfect if you want to be away from the busier areas of the Lake District. There's all the facilities you need in Stavely for a short stay in the Lakes and it wasn't a long drive to all the main tourist areas. Cottontail Cottage housed a party of four adults adequately and had all the facilities you need for a short stay. Only having one bathroom was a slight bind but nothing we couldn't workaround. In addition the small shared garden space with one seating bench limited any opportunity to sit outside in the evening, however this is clearly advertised so was expected. All in all a good stay and would recommend this location for a short stay in the Lake District.

Good base for exploring the area and parking right outside was a bonus. Kitchen was a good size and well equipped, so easy to self cater. Heating very responsive for a cosy night in. Loved the exposed beams and stone floors downstairs.

We stayed in the cottage for a week. It was perfect for our needs - two adults, two teenage boys and a small dog. It had a lovely, cosy feel and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and clean. The location was fantastic- 2 mins from the chippy, the butchers, artisan bakery, brewery, gelato shop and spar - so all our food needs were covered. The bakery did food for the brewery - burgers most nights apart from fri and sat when they did sourdough pizzas. It is also a great starting points for some lovely walks or an easy 10 mins to Windermere in the car. 1 min from the bus stop and a short walk to the train station. Very easy directions to the cottage and getting into the cottage was very straightforward. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Helen
