Take the stairs to the lower ground floor you are greeted with a cosy quaint living area with a log burner which takes you straight through into a beautiful modern kitchen with a breakfast seating area that seats 4 people.
From there you have access to the patio area at the rear of the property to enjoy a nice glass of wine after a day of exploring or al-fresco dining in the warmer months.
Cornflower Cottage has a great porch area to store your boots and hiking gear after a day on the fells. On the first floor you have two more double bedrooms and a good sized bathroom with hand shower over bath.

Spotless and comftable cottage it was perfect for 6 adults. Had everything we needed and more - had the weather been better we would definitely used the garden too. Washing machine and tumble drier a great bonus especially when the weather is bad. Had a lovely stay, great quiet location and easily accessible to local places. Would definitely recommend.

Spotlessly clean - like a home from home. Had everything we needed. It was better than expected - the photos don’t do it justice. Comfortable beds and fantastic kitchen. It was lovely sitting out in the back yard! Walkable into Windermere.

We had a lovely stay in Cornflower Cottage, it’s in a great location for exploring the lakes and just a short walk into Windermere town and down to the lake. The house is extremely well equipped and very clean, we would highly recommend it.

Me and my family enjoued our stay at the cottage, it was a beautuful place and we all felt like we were at home. The kitchen had all the amenties we needed, it was very clean and brds were very comfy. The cottage doesnt have alloacted parking but there was always a space to park on the road and we had no problems. The cottage is walking distance to the town and we visited many places that were 10 to 35 mins drive away and got to experience the lovely area. The house is suitable for young children and we would definitely stay again. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful, well furnished , spotlessly clean cottage.The cottage had everything we could possibly need and a lovely welcome gift was there on arrival. Clear directions were given and check - in was so easy . Parking on the street outside was never a problem as always plenty of spaces ( we had 2 cars) . Situated in a great location close to both Windermere ( 10 minute walk ) and Bowness ( 20 minute walk ) We would stay there again and will definitely be recommending to friends.

Lovely house with a garage which proved extremely useful for all of our ‘activity gear’ paddleboards, rock climbing kit etc. The rooms were lovely and beds very comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here as parking was very easy in surrounding streets and only 10mins walk into Windermere village.

The house was spotless on arrival and the welcoming touches were very kind. The area was quiet and we always managed to find a space to park. It was a 10-15 min walk into Windermere . The only criticism I would have is the lack of storage in bedrooms as they only have very slim single wardrobes but all bedrooms are doubles. This wouldn’t stop me staying again but even a set of drawers would have been good. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a fantastic long weekend at Cornflower Cottage as a family of 3 with our dog. The cottage is beautiful and was immaculate upon our arrival. A hamper with local produce and a bottle of milk were left for our arrival which was a lovely Touch. Everything we could have needed was present. The beds were extremely comfortable and were great after a long day exploring. The location is ideal for exploring the local area, only a 10 minute walk into Windermere. Would highly recommend Cornflower Cottage and already looking to return.

This is a great place to stay for exploring Windermere & Bowness-on-Windermere. Lots of lovely shops, bars and cafes within a 5/10 min walk of the accommodation. Bowness was a 30 min walk which took us to more beautiful shops, bars and cafes, and Lake Windermere. So overall a great location. The accommodation itself was great and had everything you would need. Kitchen was very well equipped. We would definitely visit again!

Cornflower cottage Is an amazing home to base your self at to enjoy the lakes for its shopping restaurants and most of all the walks and views that are beautiful. The cottage was brilliant for my family of 4 and a little dog, there was plenty of space for family time and me time. The cottage it self was immaculate and had a well equipped kitchen, the beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, it really did feel like home from home. What a lovely 3 floor property to stay at. Everything was catered for with a modern feel with 3 double bedrooms with one en-suite & a family bathroom. The welcome pack of local produce was very much appreciated. The property is approx. a 10 min walk from Windermere Centre with lots of eateries & bars to satisfy. Bowness is a good 20mins walk away. Highly recommended.

House is lovely, excellently furnished with everything you would need. Three good sized double bed rooms. Location is brilliant and you can walk down to Windermere or even Bowness in 20mins. Parking was never an issue. Felt really homely and finished to a very high standard.

We had such a wonderful stay at Cornflower Cottage - it was perfect for a family holiday with our 2 young children. The cottage is beautifully set up, with everything we needed and such a kind welcome hamper to get our holiday off to a good start. We loved being near the park with a great playground for a 4 and 7 year old, and also being near the walk to Orrest Head which really suited our young adventurers. Easy Wifi access, no problem with on street parking - an easy walk into Windermere for shops and restaurants, or very easy as a base for other lovely spots in the Lakes. We particularly enjoyed our trip into Grasmere on our last day. We hope we will be back again, and can recommend this place highly!

The cottage was so lovely. We enjoyed ourselves so much. The location is easy to walk to the city center and there is a large field nearby to take your dogs if needed. The cottage had great spaces for all of us. The beds were so comfortable and they had everything you need! The kitchen was well stocked as well. We loved it here! We had a fabulous time. Place was spotless, hosts were very accommodating when we had to change dates due to unexpected circumstances. Cottage was just a short walk down to the town with loads of lovely bars and restaurants. Also close to lots of brilliant parks, walking trails etc. ?????????? will definitely be back!

What an amazing cottage. This is by far the BEST property I have ever stayed at. Everything was spotless, the rooms were presented beautifully and the cottage was kitted out to the highest quality using the best possible brands. The bed was so comfy and perfect for a good nights sleep after a long day walking. The house is in a great location about 10 minutes into town and a lovely park to let the dogs out into. The garden was lovely and a nice little space to sit in the sun. We were welcomed with a hamper of fresh local produce which was a perfect touch. The kitchen was kitted out fully and was a great space to entertain in the evening. There was board games and walking books in the dining room, which we enjoyed. I cannot fault this place at all and will be booking to stay next year. Fantastic!!

This was our 2nd visit to Cornflower Cottage. Plenty of room for 5 adults a baby and a dog!The cottage was immaculate and the welcome pack was much appreciated too! A lovely touch.The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is great with just a short walk to the town centre and a 15 min walk to the lake. There are some lovely walks from the doorstep including School Knott and Orrest Head.We loved our stay there and were very lucky with the weather over Easter. The back garden is a bonus too for a glass of wine in the evening!We will certainly return to Cornflower cottage and will highly recommend Lakeland retreats as a company to book with. What a beautifully presented property with all the amenities we needed and more . Great location to visit this part of the lake district . A manageable walk into windermere but probably a short drive or bus for bowness especially back up the hill . A couple of minor issues were dealt with promptly by the management company . We would definitely return although probably in the summer months but this is no reflection on the property or owners just the weather this October half term was a challenge.

Just back from a weekend at Cornflower Cottage a beautiful high quality and very well equipped holiday cottage. As well as being spotlessly clean it has a warm cosy feel to it as soon as you walk through the front door. We loved sitting in front of the log burner relaxing at night.The cottage is very central, we just parked the car outside and never used it all weekend. On Friday we walked into Bowness with its good selection of shops and places to eat and walked along the shore of lake Windermere. Saturday we made use of the Hop on Hop off bus service taking us to Grasmere and Ambleside. Sunday we walked from the cottage to Orrest Head, a stunning viewpoint not to be missed and a relatively easy climb. Then a walk around Windermere village is worthwhile. There is so much to see and do, a weekend is just not long enough. Another trip back to this excellent cottage is being planned. Thank you so very much for our peaceful break in the Lake District.

This is one of the best property,s we have stayed in spotlessly clean and so well equipped to a very high standard. There,s a Small enclosed garden at the rear of the property ideal for our dogs safe in the knowledge they were not able to get out. Just a ten minute walk to many restaurants and shops. cafe italia is superb we ordered takeaway to collect highly recommend. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time.

Just returned from a lovely stay at Cornflower Cottage. (4 adults) 2 small dogs.On arrival we found the cottage to be spotlessly clean with a lovely little box of welcome goodies.The small enclosed garden was ideal for the dogs as was the park which is minutes from the cottage.Everything you could think of was provided and more. Cottage was furnished to a high standard and the beds were so comfortable.Ten minute walk to Windermere Town centre makes it an ideal location.Our first visit to the lake district. I would definately recommend this cottage. You will not be disappointed

Lovely little cottage in walking distance to the cafes, shops and bars of Windermere. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Little arrival hamper a lovely touch. Great park for children just behind the property. Only comment is that the layout might work better with the dining room in the basement level as its not really practical to carry meals upstairs so becomes a bit of a wasted space - and the lounge on the middle floor would work well for families with small children to keep an ear out at bedtime! But a small point - overall a fantastic property in a great location, dont hesitate to book.

absolutely gorgeous house, 6 of us went and there was plenty of room for us all, only a short walk to the town lovely walks and park right near by for the dogs which they loved as there was a stream just round it ! got a lovely welcome pack when we came too which we greatly appreciated! couldnt of asked for a better place ! nice corner shop just down the road too ! brilliant place

We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at Cornflower Cottage. We couldnt recommend it highly enough the owners really have thought of everything. The cottage was spotless, well equipped and had really nice furnishings throughout. We loved all of the homely touches. The location is excellent for Windermere and we never had any problems getting our 2 cars parked on the street outside.

We had a fantastic stay, house very clean and was brilliant for our requirements, weather was perfect during our stay, so it was great to have an enclosed (we have an escapologist beagle) outdoor space to dine in. Enjoyed playing Lake version of monopoly which was provided! Kitchen was perfect and we were able to cook quite a few meals there easily, rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable beds. We had a wonderful stay in Cornflower cottage. The cottage has everything you need for a great holiday. Everything was of a very high quality. The beds were really comfortable, great for a good night sleep. The location was perfect for walking into town or down to the lake. Also great walks from your doorstep. This is by far the best Airbnb we have stayed in. The property is stylishly decorated and everything seems to be brand new and of top quality. The thoughtful touches include wine and Kendal mint cake on arrival to a very well equipped kitchen, it has everything you could need, even down to weighing scales! The beds are very comfortable with quality mattresses and sheets. A perfect sized house for our family of four plus two friends. The layout suited us perfectly due to the en suite on the ground floor room giving extra privacy and space, it would be ideal for a family visiting with grandparents too. Well positioned to explore the beautiful Windermere and beyond. A great park just behind the house to walk the dog too. Thankyou for our stay, you have set the standard very high!
