Corner Cottage at The Heaning Estate

Stayed here for 5 days and felt like we were at home. Perfect location, close to towns and villages but a nice quiet place to relax. The cottage was a perfect size and had everything we needed. Will definitely book again. Thank you for your hospitality. Abbie x

The whole experience was wonderful. From driving into the private estate and beautiful surrounding rural surroundings to the luxury of the cottage. The spec was very high, with quality fittings and appliances. Very peaceful , but near to Windermere. Excellent

Beautiful cottage in which every little detail to make your stay comfortable has been thought of. The cottage has been finished to a very high spec and has everything you need. The welcome bottle of Prosecco and milk in the the fridge was an added special touch, alongside tea bags/ coffee and sugar. The bed is very comfortable and the views amazing. The estate is lovely to walk around with picnic benches to sit on and a lovely area to play football and games. We would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Our stay at Heaning was wonderful. The Corner Cottage felt like a luxury cottage, with a brilliantly designed interior, which felt spacious yet very cosy. It was perfect for the 2 of us. The Lounge featured a nicely comfortable sofa, with a HD Smart TV with all the streaming apps you would need. The Kitchen was well kitted out with appliances and cooking utensils, and we had a cute dining table as well as a private outdoor dining area. The shower was amazing, and the bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfy. The location is perfect, being just a mile from Windermere, yet Heaning is very peaceful with some lovely country walks from the Estate grounds. Would 100% recommend Heaning as a great place for a Lakes holiday.

Our cottage was absolutely beautiful. Everything was spotless and the style throughout just gorgeous. The grounds of the estate are kept beautifully, we sat and enjoyed the beautiful views. Staff really helpful & kind.

This cottage is a gem in a fantastic location. It is lovely and homely. It is right in the heart of Hawkshead with easy access to the local shops/pubs/etc. Easy driving to the local Towns and Lakes.

The location was beautiful, the cottage was a real home from home!

Had a lovely couple of days staying here! The location was ideal, close enough to everything we wanted to do but still set back so was nice and peaceful. We had some slight issues with the hot water and heating on our last night but the team was very responsive and was quick to come and sort it out for us. Overall a very nice place to stop, would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that area of the Lake District.

A stunning location, luxury accommodation, and first class customer service.

We had such a wonderful stay at this AirB&B. It was cosy, comfortable and welcoming. The host had left ‘welcome treats’ which were so so lovely after a long journey. We encountered a problem with the water temperature which was rectified within 10 minutes. Can’t ask for more! We would love to stay again.

It was warm and cosy, with high spec decor, great bedroom and shower, and only a short walk into Windemere and beyond to Bowness.

We spent a long weekend at the Heaning Estate, (Corner Cottage) and we had an amazing time. The cottage itself is stunning (very luxurious) and is equipped with everything you need for your stay. The views and surrounding areas are beautiful, and the estate is not too far from Windermere. Overall we had a fabulous time.

Beautifully maintained apartment. It was cosy, modern and located perfectly for a peaceful stay but in close driving distance to some amazing walks and local restaurants. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Michelle’s Airbnb was lovely - cosy cottage set in a private estate. Although they are building more cottages we didn’t notice any noise during our stay. The cottage has modern amenities, and everything you need. It has a washing machine and the electric charging point for the car was a bonus. Super comfy bed and great shower - although the shower was in a quirky location - just off the living room. Great location and just a 4-5 minute drive to Windermere. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Had a great stay. Cottage was clean and tidy upon arrival. Parking was very useful. The estate where the cottage is located is beautiful. The Prosecco was a nice touch. 10/10 would stay here again.

Just back from our annual holiday in the Lake District. Our usual place cancelled on us last minute, so we were particularly relieved to find this property. The setting is breathtakingly beautiful and the Corner Cottage is lovely, designed very smartly and tastefully; we loved the clean and understated Nordic style. Everything we needed was there, with a couple of extra cherries on the top (complimentary prosecco, sumptuous dressing gowns etc). For us the best bit was the location: the ability to walk to both Windemere and Bowness was something that my partner and I thoroughly appreciated. Lovely cottage in a superb location

A stunning location, quiet with beautiful views. The cottage itself was spotless with modern decor, the only comment would be the sofa…a bit uncomfortable for a week’s stay. Overall, the place is perfect for a couple’s getaway with the dressing gown and slippers being a welcome bonus. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a fabulous base whilst visiting the Lakes.

Had an amazing 5 days in the lakes made even better by the amazing accommodation. Lovely clean and cozy cottage away from any noise, everything you could ask for and more. The team were quick to respond to any queries and (although not needed during our stay) made us feel like we could contact with any issues we may encounter. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

We had the best week exploring the beautiful Lake District, and it was so lovely to have a cosy and clean cottage to come back to after a days adventuring, I would definitely book to stay again!

A lovely little place in hawkshead. We really enjoyed our week away here. Very cosy and the bath was amazing! Not too far of a drive from other nearby places too. Overall would recommend!

This has been the most beautiful and satisfying little break, corner cottage was fabulous and perfect. The little extra touches such as the electric log burner, gowns and slippers were so thoughtful. The views were breathtaking and the decor so authentic but modern.

What a wonderful cottage. Kitchen has everything & more that you would need. The bath is to die for, spent a bit too long in there really but don’t forget to take your bubble bath. Village is great, few shops n pubs, gets quite busy. Some great dog & human walks. Only bad things are 1.the road there, it’s very narrow so we didn’t venture out at night. 2 the garden is not enclosed, my dogs will only do their business on grass so had to take them out every few hours (for me this was not a problem, but think it would be for some) Would definitely recommend as a lovely romantic weekend away ❤️

Corner House is a quiet, private and cosy place to stay, set in beautiful Hawkshead, so close Windermere, Coniston and other local sites. Check in was extremely easy, the hosts were helpful and quick to respond during our stay, and there was plenty of parking nearby. The local shops, tea room and pubs just around the corner, as well as the cobbled streets and Beatrix Potter museum made it a lovely place to spend the weekend. There are also plenty of public footpaths starting from nearby the cottage which were perfect for dog walks. We'd love to stay here again.

Fabulous home in a wonderful location. So near to some incredible locations. We were spoilt for choice for where to eat in an evening, food and hospitality was great, so many lovely places with great food.

Corner Cottage is a beautifully presented cottage in a lovely village surrounded by the most stunning scenery. It has all modern fixtures and fittings whilst still retaining lots of old features and cosy cottage charm. It was spotlessly clean , well equipped and the boot room is ideal if you have dogs. There were numerous walks from the door and also great pubs and cafes. We felt extremely at home and would definitely visit again.

Everything was just perfect! Every little detail exceeded the expectations that you would want in a mini staycation. I loved the warm interiors and the view around. It was quiet and gave the me-time to yourself that I loveddd! It was a great escape from the busy city life and just being around nature. Having to get a chance to choose from the 4 pods also made it feel more personalized with each of them having a different touch. Love it overall in every aspect. Thank you for giving one of the best staycation experiences! 😁

A very comfortable stay with everything you need. The bedroom was lovely- I particularly loved the skylights, the space and chair to sit and read or drink tea. Bed was extremely comfortable too. The water feature was outside our bedroom and it provided a soothing backdrop. We left the car behind but you can get taxis from the station if you don’t want to do a 20-25 minute walk to the property (cost £5-£6). I would recommend booking taxis in advance if you want to be picked up from Heaning estate. Would recommend without any hesitation. Well maintained property and helpful staff on hand.

We had a great stay in Corner Cottage, we would definitely recommend this Airbnb to couples. It’s a lovely cosy cottage with a great bedroom, lovely bathroom and the kitchen is really well appointed. All very new, clean and warm. Communication with the holiday company was fast. Hawkshead is lovely, but worth knowing that when we stayed all pubs were short of staff so food was very limited, we needed to have booked a table a few weeks before your stay which we only did for our first night so couldn’t eat in Hawkshead the rest of the week.

This is a perfect place in the Lake District for somebody wants to stay a small, quiet and pretty village. The accommodation is immaculate and very well functioned. I strongly recommend it.

If you are thinking about this place vs others. Choose this!! Such a lovely estate and a very modern and cosy house. Walk in shower/wet room was amazing. Excellent communication from the owners as well, they gave me a call a couple days before my stay just to make sure I was sure of the little bits a bobs and didn’t have any more questions. Location is brilliant as well. Less than a mile away from the main town of Windermere and less than 10 minutes away from the lake. I could be here all day praising this place. Brilliant

Just returned from a fantastic stay in this wonderful cottage. The cottage is so roomy and really well equipped (remember to take some Tassimo pods). It really is good as the photos show and anyone that knows Hawkshead will know what a great location this is just behind The Honeypot.

We stayed for 4 days at the Heaning estate and we absolutely loved everything about the stay. The place is clean and beautiful and everything was beautifully set up when we arrived. There's a clear attention to details. Also, the view from the estate is stunning. The place is not too far away from Windermere but far enough for it to be quiet and private. I recommend the place for anyone who wants to spend a few calm days in the countryside.

A fabulous cozy cottage in a really nice village . . . The cottage was a perfect base for a walking holiday in the lakes. The cottage was very well equipped and it had everything to make our stay home from home. We loved the log burner and the large utility area in the cottage which was great for drying out walking gear after heavy rain on our first day out on the fells / hills. The Queens Head pub nearby was a great place for a drink and a meal in the evening. I would recommend this cottage . Thank you for the use of your cottage, we had a wonderful weekend break

Our stay here was excellent. The property was really clean and was just what we needed for a relaxing break away. Windemere was also less than a 5 minute drive away, so the property was really well located.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. The electric fire and lighting along the wooden beams were lovely touches and the soft, king size bed was a dream! We didn’t brave the walk into Windermere in the evening, as it was slightly too long along the A road in the dark. But we were more than happy to stay in and enjoy the cosy cottage as the evenings were rainy. Day trips to Ambleside and Coniston weren’t far to drive to and the short walk up to Orrest Head from Windermere was a highlight, and very close by. Definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return soon.

We stayed for our honeymoon, and we couldn't have picked a better place, plus we also received a celebration hamper from Michelle and her Team, this made our day and was such a lovely surprise. Stayed in corner cottage for the week and it was perfect. The estate was no more than a 2 minute drive into Windermere and close to Ambleside and Brockholes park too. We had a fabulous stay in Corner Cottage! Loved our private courtyard and the weather was kind to us, so we enjoyed our complementary welcome drinks in the sun! Corner cottage is honestly such an amazing place to stay during a visit to the Lake District. We were able to walk into Windermere (even stopping at Orrest Head on the way) and then got a taxi back in the evening which was 8 minutes. The estate is so lovely and beautiful and the cottage was well equipped and very modern. It had everything we needed and more for our stay

Beautiful place in a fantastic location, just a short drive from Windermere. Far enough away for peace and quiet but with everything you need nearby. The thought and care on the design and finish shines through in the quality of the accommodation which has everything you need (including a hairdryer which isn’t listed), well equipped kitchen and a lovely patio area. I struggled with the comfort of the sofa but the bed was perfect. Loved it and will visit again.

We were looking for a peaceful spot to getaway after the lockdown was lifted. We weren't disappointed. Corner Cottage was the perfect retreat with direct access to some lovely countryside walks. The accommodation is beautifully fitted out with top of the range furnishings and appliances. The Heaning team seem to have thought of everything. The estate was everything we hoped for and more.

Was very much taken back as the pictures don’t do the place any justice at all! I think once you step through the door the ambiance sets in. Would most definitely stay again and can’t wait to revisit the Heaning to see what the other parts of the Estate are like!

Lovely accommodation, stylish and comfortable with great attention to detail. The bed is the comfiest I've slept in for a long time, like sleeping on a cloud! Kitchen well planned out and has everything you need for self-catering. Quiet surroundings, with great walks nearby and Windermere only a couple of miles away for restaurants and shopping. We spent a lovely week in the Corner House, walking and wild swimming in the nearby fells and tarns. We will be back!

Amazing place in a great location

We stayed here for 10 days in August and it was so lovely. The cottage had such nice touches, everything was brilliant quality and so comfortable. The area and it's surroundings were beautiful and lovely to get out of the busy tourist towns. We really hope to come back again!

Such a beautiful and thoughtful cottage. There were lots of little touches like local toiletries and art, books about the area and even a Lake District edition of monopoly. The fire was on for when we arrived and a bottle of fizz was on the side. A gorgeous location, really convenient, beautiful cottage and interiors as well as being well kitted for nights in cooking. Corner cottageIn short, we adored our stay at Corner Cottage. We booked without any reviews on this newly-developed property so not 100% certain to expect... we needn’t have worried, we know the 5 star reviews will come flying in! Corner Cottage is set on The Heaning Estate, just about a mile outside of Windermere. It’s extremely quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet close enough you can walk or cycle in if you fancy food and drink. The Estate is stunning. It comprises of a couple of larger houses and a row of 5 one-bedroom cottages, as we all as some other barns. There’s other people around but not enough to disturb you. The cottage itself is perfect. Bright, modern, we spent the whole week commenting on things we loved about the decor or facilities (so much so that it got amusing how much we said it.) It’s obvious a lot of love has been poured into the space and it makes it a real delight to stay there. Some highlight for us included the beautiful bedroom with king size bed, plenty of storage and a pair of skylights that let a fabulous breeze through on hot nights. The kitchen is really well equipped and we also noticed lots of the other barns were, like us, cooking and enjoying their accommodation. The shower room has a fab drench shower. We loved the (electric) log burner for ambiance. There’s a dishwasher plus a washing machine/dryer so we managed to do all our laundry before getting home... Alongside this the little local touches like a Lakes version of Monopoly, a Rough Guide which helped us pick our many walks and bike rides, combined with fluffy robes and slippers plus a bottle of Prosecco on arrival... it all added up to a fabulous stay and we can’t wait to return and have already booked again!! A wonderful place to stay for any trip to the Lake District. Secluded location with stunning views only a short drive from Bowness and Ambleside. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the decor and furnishings which make the cottage cosy but modern. Definitely will be recommending to family and friends.
