Comfortable and clean, excellent location right in town. Ambleside was a perfect base for exploring the area. Only downside was the tricky parking location.

We booked this house an hour before we arrived after being badly let down by another holiday property. It was a lovely comfortable property that we felt at home in. It's such an amazing location for Ambleside shops and restaurants and we hiked from here too. To find it take the small turning on Compston Road next to the Lucky Dragon takeaway. It's up this lane in the corner. One word of caution, take care if you use the cellar steps. They can be slippery.

Very good stay there! The accommodation is very convenient and clean and very well located in Ambleside. There is a parking space, which is a real bonus. The hosts were helpful and reactive if any issues. Thank you for the great stay

Lovely cottage and everything we needed. Could have done with a diagram showing how to access the cottage from the road but otherwise everything was perfect.

Perfect location and lovely cottage in centre of Ambleside. Great for pubs and restaurants and plenty of coffee shops. Ideal base for lots of fantastic walks. Excellent value for money. Only issue was finding the cottage when arriving in centre of Ambleside. Instructions could have been clearer. All in all a fantastic stay and would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at Church Cottage. It was in a great location and nice and quiet set back off one of the main streets. Parking was tight as others have said but this was only because of the cottage next doors parking. Beds were super comfy and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We look forward to visiting again.

We spent 4 nights at Church Cottage (2 adults and a 4 year old). The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is in a great location in the middle of Ambleside with good access to Keswick and Windermere. There is plenty to do locally with children (parks, crazy golf, the Rock Shop, Pencil Museum, Haverthwaite Railway, The Puzzling Place etc.). We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property with (almost) everything we needed. Great location. A few snagging points but worth 5* overall. Hope to be back! If you are driving you will need to access the property from Compston Road, then take a left directly after The Lucky Dragon take away. This is a narrow lane but is the only way to access in the car. The property is at the bottom left of the courtyard you arrive at.

Lovely little cottage. Had everything you needed for your stay. A home away from home. Parking is a little tight but we used public transport to get around, just to avoid any complications with getting back into the parking spot in our return and public transport in the area is great anyway. Great location. Just a short walk from shops and local amenities. Would love to stay there again. Communication was great with lots of updates before we arrived.

Church Cottage is a lovely home away from home. The location is perfect if you want to be in the town, which we do, and there are some great walks straight from the front door. The rest of the Lake District is easily accessible from Ambleside by car and by bus. We will be back!

Lovely stay in Ambleside, perfect central location tucked away in a quiet corner. Great for small families (a stair gate would of been a nice extra touch) All in all a very comfortable & enjoyable stay. Thankyou

Really enjoyed my week stay at Church Cottage - great central location in Ambleside with easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants. Lounge and kitchen diner is well set out although only cooked at breakfast. Parking is tight as mentioned in the property details so be prepared for multi point turns, especially when other people are parked in the courtyard - definitely only for smaller cars.

Lovely cosy cottage in a perfect location for exploring The Lakes and very easy for wandering around Ambleside. Many walks can be done on foot from the cottage, no need to drive. Fabulous place for a break.

Perfect place for our little family of 3. Very clean, and we didn’t have any issues during our stay. Our 5yo had a couple of games suitable to play, and there are a good selection of DVDs and books for adults. No issues with the parking, even though it looked tight - we have a VW Tiguan and I think if any wider it would be an issue. There were instructions on how to park and reverse on the wall that were spot on! Very grateful also for the dryer in the basement!

This was the first place we stayed when we first visited Ambleside 6 years ago. We've been back numerous times since, even for our honeymoon! Church Cottage is a cosy, quiet and clean property in a fantastic location - right in the centre of town (about 20 steps from the Golden Rule pub!) and also with many fells and walking routes on the doorstep. Not to be missed!

Loved this cottage. Very clean and great kitchen with all utensils we could need. Parking is tight as per other reviews, but once you suss out the reversing in the yard, we managed fine (with our Audi Q3 which is a bigger car). Please don’t let the parking put you off, it’s so much better than having to fight for a space in Ambleside car parks! The bed is a super king. So big and comfy. We now want one of our own. Great sleep after days of walking! Will defo book again!

We have just returned from our stay at Church cottage. Really lovely place, clean, spacious and great location close to shops and many restaurants. Before we set of we read about the tight parking and true be hold we did not manage to get our 4x4 car parked in front of the house but it wasn’t an issue as there is a car park only about 5/10 min walk where we parked for 3 days for a £17.50.

This is a great little property for a couple or small family. Comfortable living space, quiet rooms. Stayed elsewhere in Ambleside in the past and was kept awake by traffic noise. Given the location it’s very peaceful.

“Lovely cottage, perfect location, parking is tight (bring a smallish car) but having the parking space right outside cottage was a massive bonus as Ambleside is busy. Everything you need is supplied. Highly recommend cottage for any length of stay.”

Fantastic place, amazing location and one of the best Airbnbs I've stayed in. The parking is a bit tight but that's literally my only complaint, highly recommended.

Great location, only a few steps away from the shops and restaurant yet felt quiet and secluded given its hidden location. Also very much an advantage to have parking (space for 1 car) right outside the property. House well equipped and plenty of space for three of us, nice touch to have tea and coffee available for when you arrive. Appreciated the high chair and travel cot in the property too for our toddler. All in all a great stay and if in Ambleside again we'll definitely return to Church Cottage!

Church Cottage is ideally situated in Ambleside. The size of the accommodation is great and very well equipped for 2/3 people. We had a great 9 days here and hope to return to Ambleside one day. There is parking directly outside the Cottage but is best suited for small cars as the approach alleyway is narrow and other vehicles could be parked near your exit route.
