Really enjoyed our stay for the week, it was a very unique place with the bedrooms being downstairs! such a spacious modern beautiful home which we was able to relax and enjoy! location was fab as was close to public transport and town centre! communication was really good too, and late check out was much appreciated when we know its not always possible! great hosts! highly reccomend staying here!

A good place to use as a base to explore the local areas from a town centre location. Spacious, well decorated and well equipped. The floors are fairly thin so the people upstairs were clearly audible when they walked around, and those in the bedrooms downstairs were sometime disturbed by people in the living space. Overall a good place to stay.

we've just got back from a lovely stay at no.8 in bowness. The house can be tricky to find but once you've worked out the front from the back it's easy. parking can be tight but we had a people carrier and managed just fine ☺️ we walked and used public transport once we arrived so we left the car in the parking space the entire time. close to all the attractions, shops, restaurants. cosy beds and plenty of space. the washing was a great extra after walking through mud and doing go apes zip wire! there is a flat above the house that you can hear the people walking around in but as the bedrooms are below the living accommodation this didn't cause a problem to us. a lovely stay. thank you

We had a lovely stay at the Cottage. It was very clean, comfortable, spacious and decorated to a high standard. It was situated very conveniently close to restaurants, shops and the lake but set back enough off the main road making it quiet. Thank you very much Michelle for all the added extras you provided (toilet rolls, hand wash, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea/coffee even foil/cling film) These were much appreciated as well as the lovely Prosecco left for us!

Just returned from a weekend stay with friends at Chapel House We could not fault it. It was spotless and had everything we needed. The location was great being so close to all the amenities in Bowness. The parking at the rear is very small and difficult to get into especially if there are other cars there. With having a larger car we chose to park in the car park just over the road which was not as expensive as we thought it would be for 3 days and that was obviously our choice to do that. We would certainly stay here again.

Great accommodation & perfect location. Michelle’s accommodation had everything we needed & more for a great 4 night stay. Lovely touch of a bottle of fizz for our arrival. Amazing location, walking distance into Bowness. A brilliant stay, would highly recommend.

The house was just so welcoming when you walked in. Was a pleasure to go back to each day and it was beyond well equipped. We were worried about the parking when we first arrived but after a couple of days we got used to the ‘tight squeeze’ and it was fine. It paled into insignificance with the house being so beautiful and cosy. Lovely property.

We had a great stay in number 8, the place is as described and nice and clean. It is right in the centre of Bowness so is very convenient for the vast array of restaurants and bars. It is also handy to have a parking space outside the property albeit a little tight if you have a larger than average size car. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and there was a nice touch with the bottle of prosecco and milk in the fridge on our arrival. We would definitely stop here again. Overall it is a great little place right in the centre of Bowness 👍

Excellent location. Short walk to the water…basically anywhere in Bowness-on-Windermere in 10 minutes walk. Off the main road, so no road noise. Beds were comfy, bathrooms fantastic, kitchen met our needs, and internet was fast. Looking forward to the next time we stay!

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of Bowness with easy access to shops and loads of eating/coffee places. And an easy walk to the lake. The place itself had everything we needed - we were really impressed by the decor and how comfortable it was. We were so happy here we plan to return in the winter. There is only one thing that should be noted. There is no outside space - the description was acurate in that outside space was not mentioned but neither was it highlighted. For us it didn't matter - the weather was so awful we were happy to be snug inside but the lack of outside space may be a disapointment if people imagined they could sit outside in beautiful weather with a glass of something. And talking of a glass of something thanks so much for the bottle of prosecco! All in all I would certainly recommend The Chapel.

Fantastic location. Walking distance of main street, restaurants and lake front. We parked up and never needed the car again all week, boat, bus, train all on doorstep...parking space is tight but not a problem if you can reverse! Beautifully presented home, clean and full of modern comforts. Lovely welcome gift of bottle of bubbly, milk ,tea and coffee. (Thank you) Quiet location. Loved the downstairs bedrooms (my son said he was Peter Rabbit down the rabbit hole), lovely and cool which was appreciated as we picked a hot week! Half the price of going abroad and we had better weather and fabulous home all to ourselves. We would recommend and return again.

Enjoyed a lovely few days at Chapel House as our base for some hiking. Fantastic location, right in the hub of Bowness with a great selection of pubs, restaurants and shops and ofcourse lake Windermere itself. Parking a bit tight in terms of driving into the allotted space, probably a good idea to highlight this as bigger cars might struggle. Lovely cottage, would definitely stay again on our next trip to the Lakes.

Had such a fantastic time staying here. Perfectly located central for the lake, local restaurants and pubs. Only used the car once all week. The house has everything needed as well as extras for rainy days in. We were gutted to have to leave, will definitely return to stay again.

It was our second visit here just before Christmas and what an amazing break we had once again. Our first night was spent in the cottage which had been tastefully decorated for Christmas with a Christmas tree and fairy lights etc and even Christmas cushions, such lovely and unexpected touches. We had a totally relaxing evening in front of the log burner. Once again we found everything was of a very high standard, spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. Extremely comfy beds with clean crisp white linen. Well appointed kitchen with everything that you would need. The accommodation and location is second to none, located a stones throw away from the centre of Bowness near to some fabulous bars restaurants and shops. But on a quiet side street so it is very peaceful. You can park right outside the cottage for free which is also an added bonus. Once again we had a fantastic time, everything was just perfect! We have already booked to go back again and I cannot wait. Can highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Chapel House. The location is brilliant and the cottage is warm, comfortable and clean with a couple of lovely welcoming touches. It easily catered for 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children who loved the “upside down” aspect of the house Any questions we had were answered promptly and we’d definitely stay again.

We just loved our stay here. This property is in a perfect, central location in Bowness on Windermere, just off the main street and so handy for the shops, bars and restaurants. We really appreciated the personal touches of a bottle of Prosecco (and milk in the fridge for a cuppa) waiting for us on our arrival. It is immaculate and very well equipped with comfy beds, puffy, cosy duvets and pillows. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and a lovely ensuite bathroom with a large bath. During our stay, we thorougly enjoyed coming home after a day out, lighting the wood burner and chilling out in front of the cosy fire. A fantastic property all round and we would definately book it again without hesitation. Thank you!

We had a great holiday in Bowness staying at 8 Chapel House. The bedrooms are downstairs in the basement which were lovely and cool despite the hot weather. The windows in the lounge are restricted so would get hot in the day, but the barn door in the kitchen allowed plenty of air to circulate. It’s worth noting that the entrance to the property is down an alley at the rear of the house rather then on Bank Terrace which was a little confusing when we first arrived. The house is really well equipped and spacious and just a short stroll downhill to the Lake, perfect for a family holiday. We stayed with our two young children (4yo and 2yo) and it had everything we needed, including travel cot and high chair. The dining table is essentially a breakfast bar but the lounge is large. The parking space was a great bonus although we rarely used the car as everything is so close. We would definitely return and already looking for next year!

Parking is a squeeze. It's very old England so if you've rented yourself a minivan you might have to use car park opposite. It quite reasonably priced and offers 7 day tariffs. Otherwise, great location, great property, would stay again!

You won’t be disappointed if you book Chapel House! It is a very clean, beautifully presented holiday home. We especially liked the modern kitchen with all its amenities. We had a 10 months old baby with us so the provision of a high chair and travel cot was a bonus. In a quiet area off the high street, the property is close to a range of shops and places to eat. We enjoyed our visit to the quirky little cinema which is just across the road and shows all the latest films. All queries, via email, were promptly answered. Thank you for our Prosecco and fridge items! We had a lovely week!

Beautiful flat in a great location very close to everything and some lovely restaurants and bars literally a minutes walk. Everything catered for and a high end finish on everything with very good beds and linen. A lovely touch of Prosecco on arrival too. I have only reduced this to a 4 star rating as we did experience rattling pipes from the other flat in the building and this was very regular. When I raised this someone was sent very quickly but I was told it’s not in the flat so nothing can be done which is a shame. That would not stop us from returning as it really is one of the nicest flats we have stayed in.

We have stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s but this is the first one in quite a long time where we have opened the door and gone wow. The views are stunning and the bungalow does not disappoint either. Modern and immaculately clean we were impressed by the quality of everything. In a great location for the central lakes and a short walk to both the town centre and the lake. We stayed with two children under 3 and had everything we needed. I also think compared to other properties we have recently stayed in nearby it is fantastic value for money. We hope to stay again soon.

Had a lovely week at Chapel House, so close to the town centre yet so peaceful and quiet. The cottage inside was lovely and modern, so homely and comfortable. Amazing SKY TV and internet for those rainy evenings. Parking right outside the door meant we could leave the car and explore the town centre and the 10 minute walk down to lake Windermere was lovely in the evenings. Kitchen is very well stocked. No noise at all from neighbours. Weather was so good we didn’t get to use the log burner but we can’t complain. Lots of vegan food around, Booths in Windermere and Sainsburys in Kendal did a great range. For the non Vegans, Vinegar Jones did lovely fish and chips which we ate down by the lake watching the sunset. It is a great base to explore the Lakes and will definitely be going back to Chapel House.

Just returned from a fab week at Chapel house no 8. Location great for shops, plenty of places to eat, and walk to without taking the car, yet quiet enough at night for a good night's sleep. Car parking space was a bonus although it should be noted may be tight if you have a larger vehicle... Facilities 5 star, exceptionally clean comfortable beds, the kitchen had everything you could need for a week's holiday and more. Appreciated the stable door in the kitchen as it was so warm together with the lovely bay window in the lounge. When we couldn't work the heating downstairs the company came out promptly and sorted it for us which was great. Would love to return. Thank you very much for an amazing week's holiday.

Such a fantastic location for exploring the Lakes. A lovely cottage with lots of room for our family of four (two girls aged 7 and 9). The location is brilliant so we could pop to Co-op for supplies as and when needed, and treat ourselves to some delicious takeaways for our holiday. The cottage has everything you need and more. Arriving to find a bottle of Prosecco and some milk in the fridge was an added bonus, thank you. There is a fantastic walking book which we used for multiple walks (including a 10-mile walk up Place Fell with spectacular views over Ullswater, which we highly recommend). Having parking is a definite bonus and made everything so easy and stress-free. We highly recommend this cottage and hope to come back very soon.

We recently stayed at No 8 Chapel House for a few nights. It was in the perfect location to explore Bowness. The cleanliness of the house was second to none and we felt perfectly safe in the current times with Covid. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bottle of Prosecco was also a welcome touch. I would thoroughly recommend this house. In terms of places to eat, we visited The Angel Inn and The Magic Roundabout - both of which I would recommend. For breakfast, we treated ourselves to a trip across the road each morning to Mio Mondo for a full-cooked breakfast - a great way to start the day. On the first night, we arrived around 6 o’clock and didn’t want to go out so we used the One Delivery app and ordered from Rastelli Ristorante. It was quite expensive but was worth it for restaurant quality food delivered to your door.

What can I say about Chapel House. To begin, i actually arrived much earlier than expected. However, the property management were at the cottage and the lady, sorry can’t remember name, was such a lovely friendly person and made contact to confirm an earlier than expected check in. This was lovely, as I was prepared to wait several hours as it was my fault, but I was catered for, which set the whole trip to a better than expected start. Once inside the cottage, it was to a high standard and exceptionally clean, and with a lovely touch of a bottle of Prosecco, Christmas cake, Christmas crackers and some fruit. There were Christmas decorations and a tree too! It was a lovely touch. The facilities were excellent, with some dvds, board games, books, sky tv, and even an Alexa dot. The cottage was very warm, and the log fire was top notch fir a lovely warming feeling after a long day out walking, visiting the local area. There are lots to do within a few minutes walking, lovely pubs, restaurants, cafes, champagne bar, shops etc and of course the dock fir the boat trips. Bowness itself is very clean, family and couple friendly where you feel safe. The main bedroom is very comfortable and struggled to get out of bed as it’s so comfortable, although pretty much on the high street, you hear no noise at all from local traffic, n fact, it is so quiet and peaceful we both had the best nights sleep fir a long time. I thoroughly recommend anyone booking Chapel house and we both agreed we would want to stay there again as we loved the area and the cottage. A special thank you to the property management and the lovely lady I met at the cottage when I arrived early when she was cleaning and preparing for my stay. Happy new year to you all Tony”

A few days away to celebrate my husbands birthday brought us to Bowness. We selected No 8 due to its central location within the village. Up the iron steps & into the lovely kitchen with a bottle of Prosecco & little note to welcome us - great start ! We found the kitchen exceptionally appointed & spotlessly clean. Through into the lounge & just lovely & comfy - the furniture & soft furnishings are obviously very new & of super quality. The small wood burner really packs out some heat ! Downstairs are the two bedrooms - really like that little motion light at the bottom of the stairs - a simple nice touch. The main bedroom is über comfy with a fab comfy bed & crisp white bed linen ! No stripes here which I hate with a passion. With a TV on the wall moving from bed was a challenge ! All in all a super 3 day stay ! Great cottage, great location - we’ll be back for sure !

This is the perfect accommodation in Bowness. Centrally located and stocked with everything you could think of to ensure a comfortable stay. All communication was efficient, this is an amazing base to explore the Lake District. Highest marks across the board!

Such a lovely place to stay, just off the high street and yet 5 minutes walk from Lake Windermere itself. Everything on your door step, pubs, shops, the lake, walks and activities. The pictures online don’t do the place justice! The house has such a great homely feeling to it, but with new and modern amenities. Full standing fridge, wine rack, huge living room with smart tv and log burner. Downstairs the main bedroom has the most delightful kings size bed that is impossible to get out of as its so warm and comfy, high quality sheets!! Amazing touches all round the room with everything that you might need. The ensuite bathroom is new, spacious and clean. We didn’t actually use the second bedroom with twin beds but they looked just as great and had all the same amenities with plenty of hanging space and a dressing table. There is a second bathroom too which always comes in handy. Michelle and Tracy are super quick to get back to you on anything you need or any suggestions. The parking spot is also off the main road which is nice as makes parking much easier. I am a very light sleeper, so did hear a few people in the property next door/above in the morning which disturbed me, but wouldn’t stop me staying again for sure. Michelle also gifted us a bottle of prosecco upon arrival which was the sweetest! If you are looking for a warm, stylish place to call home for your stay with all that the Lake District has to offer on your door step, then this is the place to book!! We’ll be back for sure.

We have spent a weekend here half term, the Cottage is absolutely perfect. It has been decorated recently to a very high standard, everything is brand new and everything you could possibly need is on hand. A lovely log fire is the centre of the living room, brilliant after a long day exploring the lake which is literally minutes walk away from the property, a breakfast bar is centre of the excellent kitchen. The bedrooms are large and extremely comfortable with duvet covers that feel like they are hugging you. A two minute walk and you are in the centre of town, which has loads of bars and restaraunts to try out. We would definitely recommend stopping here as it’s simply perfect.
