Your Cosy Lake District Retreat, Steps from Adventure

Beautifully renovated to a high standard, Bowman Cottage offers a delightful retreat in Ambleside. Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood just a short walk from the village centre, it’s perfect for a getaway any time of year.

Enter through the front door, up a couple of steps, into the welcoming hall with space to hang outdoor gear. There are two reception rooms: a cosy front snug featuring a flat-screen TV, Freeview, DVD, Bluetooth sound system, free Wi-Fi, and an ornamental fireplace. The separate family/dining room is equipped with a log burner, comfortable seating, wall-mounted TV with Freeview, DVD, and Bluetooth sound system, flowing into a well-equipped galley kitchen with a boot drying cupboard. From here, the back door leads to the rear patio.

This home spans three floors. The first-floor master bedroom features a double bed, flat-screen TV, and radio/CD player. There are two modern, fully tiled bathrooms with underfloor heating: one with a roll-top bath, handheld shower, basin, and WC; the other with an overhead shower, basin, and WC. The top floor has two additional bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with lovely fell views over the rooftops.

The cottage’s interiors are painted in sophisticated Farrow and Ball shades, creating a warm and stylish ambience. Thoughtfully chosen furnishings provide comfort throughout, with snug carpeting in the bedrooms and sitting areas, while the hallway and dining room feature rich oak flooring. Many windows offer delightful views of the surrounding area and distant fells.

Flagstone areas at the front and back of the cottage catch sunlight throughout the day. The enclosed rear patio features a garden table and chairs, ideal for outdoor relaxation, along with a secure bike shed. A parking permit for one car is provided for use in nearby car parks. The heart of Ambleside is only 200 yards away.
