And the Dog Can Come Too!

Homely accommodation for 4 adults, two private parking spaces, charging point for electric vehicles AND you can bring your four-legged friend along, two if you have them – what’s not to like about Blue Hill? And! If you're looking for room for your group of up to 8, you could book the next-door property Fisherbeck as well.

The end of a short terrace of three, Blue Hill welcomes repeat visitors year after year. Its traditional style creates a relaxing environment, the comfortable living room with warming gas fireplace, a welcome retreat, particularly in the cooler months. The bright kitchen diner provides great facilities and plenty of storage if you prefer to regularly cater for yourselves during your stay.

Two good bedrooms on the first floor, one double and one kingsize, both with oversized duvets, share in the modern house bathroom with a deep bath, perfect for a long soak after a hard day walking the fells and separate shower cubicle. The patio area to the front is just the spot to enjoy a pre-dinner drink before heading into Ambleside to sample one of the many great eateries available.

As a welcome gift, there is a large jar of Uncle Joe’s mint balls. Take a handful with you, every time you go walking on the fells.

For your entertainment, WiFi, Sky TV and a Bluetooth Amplifier have been provided. There are also two USB charging points on an alarm clock in the main bedroom.

What a find Blue Hill is

In a slightly elevated position, just a 5-minute walk from the popular village of Ambleside and with two other cottages, Fisherbeck and High Fisherbeck in this terrace also available, there are heaps of attractions to explore in and around the village. The property is available for weekly or longer holiday lets throughout the year and is also available on a short break basis. However, a week is never going to be long enough to enjoy all the activities in the area. Windermere Lake is a short walk away and there are many short strolls or for the more energetic, walks on the nearby fells. For garden lovers, Hayes Garden World is just down the road or on the way back to Windermere there is the Lakeland Horticultural Society gardens at Holehird which will reward a visit at any time of the year. For those gourmet lovers among you, be sure to include a visit to one of many excellent, fine dining restaurants, The Stamp House and The Samling both highly recommended.

Fabulous place to stay, peaceful but within easy reach of the town. We didn’t need to get the car out, lots to do on foot, by bus and boat. Great selection of shops and restaurants too. We will return!

Lakeland Retreats is a locally run letting company, as such you really do a get the personal touch rather than other lake district letting agents. a) All the staff are very helpful and friendly. b) The dwelling is very comfortable and clean. c) We have been coming to lake district for many years and we intend to stay with Lakeland Retreats. Unlike all the other agents we feel as this is locally run the monies will end up in the local area. They also remain competitive.

We had a lovely stay in Ambleside, the house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for walking into town or down to the pier, about 10 minutes each way.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a stay and plenty of space for relaxing / eating. Great location for getting in to town, or out on to the fells (Wansfell is literally just round the corner). Washing machine is very handy, and the shower was good. Main bed is quite noisy if you’re a light sleeper. The tuneful washing machine will keep you entertained during your stay! Locating the property was a bit of a challenge (the parking is to the rear; so you need to aim for Fisherbeck Park, not Blue Hill Road. The What 3 Words for the parking is ///smoothly.informer..tile EV charger was really handy, but instructions were non-existent so I had to call the office. It is located underneath the cottage next door to Blue Hill in the opening to the garage. You’ll need to park in your neighbours space to use it, or if you’ve got a long cable park next to them and it should reach.

Beautiful cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did our little doggie. It had everything we needed and more. Very homely, and close to town 5 minute walk, but still nice and peaceful. Garden was not enclosed but was fine for us and our little dog, highly recommend and would stay again. thank you.

Hi, we loved staying in the cottage. A little hiccup re finding the front door but once in everything was great. It was a real advantage having the washing machine & a fab shower as we did get very wet one day and being able to take the dog was just perfect. Enough space for a family of 4, a great location, Close to shops and lots of fab places to eat. Also enjoyed all the amazing walks straight from the doorstep, loved by the whole family. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks.

Had a great week in Michelle’s house. Great location, good size and perfect for a small family. If your mobility is an issue then the hill to the house might be a problem, but manageable at a slow pace. Communications and the check-in were great and the location was as peaceful as it gets. I would have rated 5 stars if it wasn’t for the garden. It needs a bit of TLC.

The place was spotlessly clean and has every utensil you need to cook in the kitchen. The washing machine was a great help after muddy walks and the heating was very welcome! The house is in a brilliant location to get into and out of Ambleside

First, fantastic location if you want to explore the Lakes without a car (or with one, there is parking). Several minutes walk to local shops and Ambleside bus station. Restaurants just a few minutes by foot. Easy out of hours check-in process, clearly well worked out over many visits. Staff respond promptly and professionally. The cottage has great character and is tastefully decorated. Constant and prompt hot water on shower, sink and bath. Overall highly recommended.

Really well located and comfortable cottage. Exactly as advertised with all the amenities you'd expect. For people taking their dog along be aware that the house rules are no dogs upstairs and no dogs on furniture. Not an issue but worth being aware of. Would definitely recommend it.

Small, comfortable and well-equipped house for our family of 4 in a fanstastic location; only 5 mins walk from Ambleside town centre yet very quiet with reserved off-road car parking spaces. We enjoyed cosy evenings next to the gas fire (although the house was warm enough during the day and we didn't need to use the central heating) and the views of the fells from the back of the house. We will be back!
