Unbeatable lake access in your very own private woodland retreat

Nestled on the side of a wooded hill you'll find Beech How. Accessed by a private drive with parking for 3 cars the whole group will have space to come and go as they please. With outside seating you can dine around the garden furniture as you drink in the views of the lake and surrounding fells. Enter through a hallway with space for boots and coat, the open-plan living kitchen is great for evening get togethers again, treated to splendid views. For ease of access, you'll also find a ground-floor bedroom and separate shower room downstairs.

The upside-down house living room (being upstairs) makes the most of the beautiful tranquil views over Lake Windermere. Another two upstairs bedrooms, 1 twin and 1 Double, enjoy similar views. Then there's the main family bathroom.

Lastly is the best feature for the adventurous! The garden is a large woodland. Though the gravel path is steep, it leads down to the lake shore. Please do be careful with children. There are hours of fun exploring just the garden which is a great start to a Lake District adventure holiday!

A private escape on the shore of Lake Windermere with fell views

Beech How is a comfortable base for exploring the central and southern fells with lake access directly on Lake Windermere, perfect for the adventurous family wanting to bring their paddle boards or kayaks. Skim stones down by the water of having a BBQ on a Summer evening.

It is situated on the outskirts of Bowness at the far end of the Lake, being only a 5-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants and 5 minutes from Gummer’s How walk which is possibly the best view of the Lake.

Superb location right on the lake . The place is much better than the photos . Location is a 3 min to drive to the town centre. The best place to stay in Lake District. The view is to die for . Strongly recommended!!!

We stayed at Michelle's for a walking holiday with two dogs. The location is nice and peaceful with plenty of outdoor space for the dogs to explore (not completely fenced in). The private access to the lake is a really nice feature (and great for the dogs to have a swim after a muddy walk!). It is just a ten minute drive from restaurants and supermarkets. There is a hotel very close by with a spa where I was able to book a treatment.

First time staying in the area and I will definitely return, I just wish there was availability later on in the summer months to book. The views were amazing and the cottage had everything I needed for my stay and it was very cosy, there is plenty of private land surrounding the property for you to explore and relax down by the lake, if you want to explore the surrounding areas it is essential you have a car, it’s only about a 10 minute drive into the town but it’s a 1 hour walk but they have everything you could want and everyone is so friendly and there is plenty to do. I would recommend you take bird and squirrel feed with you if you enjoy watching the wildlife as there is plenty that will come and visit you just outside the kitchen window on he feeder and the ground and the ducks down by the lake they will sometimes visit too.

The location of the property is superb and is absolutely worth it. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. Yes, there are some cosmetic improvements which could be made and the drive is a little difficult to find and a bit bumpy, but it is definitely worth it for the location and peace. We would 100% stay here again.

Nice house in a beautiful location. Great view of Windermere from most windows. Close to nice towns and walks. Easy to find if you use the maps link from the email. The pin drop is correct so slow down and indicate as you approach!

Lovely cottage. Perfect for family and dogs. No fancy trimmings just amazing view and access to the Lake. Driveway was quite narrow for our 3 cars.

We had a lovely week in the Lakes and as ever Windermere and Bowness didn’t disappoint. The private access to Windermere from the Cottage’s private beach was definitely the highlight.
