A MODERN TWIST ON A TRADITIONAL COTTAGE THEME

Step into the bright open living space with perfectly chosen furnishings and accessories to create a modern twist on the traditional cottage theme. A warming woodburning stove takes centre stage, the comfy deep sofas arranged around the fireplace that sits in a stone Inglenook. A light shaker kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and a complimenting dining suite. The window seat at the far end is just the spot to perch and look out onto the garden.

On the first floor, you’ll find two pretty bedrooms both stylishly presented in pale, muted tones, one a king-size, the other a twin, each with their own en-suite shower room. The master bedroom sits at the front of the cottage and enjoys lovely views over the fully enclosed garden.

The garden is south facing and enjoys great views out towards the fells so take a seat and plan your next adventure. Private off-road parking is available for one car in a dedicated space at the front of the property.

The cottage is very cosy & has everything you need for a short stay. All appliances were good quality and worked. We found it very convenient for walking into Ambleside & also for travelling to the surrounding villages.

Great location but steep hills. The cottage was on the small side and it added to the cosy feel.

Michelle’s attention to detail should be commended. She has thought of everything. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the personal touches make if feel homily. We were always warm and cosy; every room was comfortable. The cottage is in a quite location, but only a five to ten minutes walk away from the facilties in Ambleside. We did several mountain walks straight from the front door and were able to leave the car at the cottage. We would love to stay again; fully recommended.

Gorgeous little cottage a short walk from the centre of Ambleside. Really warm and cosy (wood burning stove is great!) with a handy boot room for drying all your walking gear. Comfy beds, really clean, everything you need for a happy stay. Great comms from the host, would definitely stay again!

Lovely little cottage with excellent facilities and only a short walk into Ambleside town centre. The cottage is smaller than it appears in the photos however there was plenty room for two adults, two teenagers and a dog.

Cosy cottage. Well equipped and beautifully clean. Luxurious bedding and sumptuous pillows! The cottage is perfectly placed for both the town and lake - no more than 5-10minute walk. Stairs are narrow so just take care.

Great little find, tucked away but within 5min walk of amenities. The house is small but the owners have made great use of the space - nice and cosy. Parking was on the road but it’s a quiet residential street with very few cars passing, so not an issue. Owners were also very responsive to any questions we had. Oh and the beds were very comfortable! Overall it’s a lovely place to stay, we will definitely be back for another long weekend.

We had a great week away at Apple Tree cottage! Even though we stayed in November, we still managed to do some great walks and visit some beautiful waterfalls without having to drive anywhere! Brilliant location and the cottage was clean and compact.

We absolutely loved staying in this cosy cottage tucked away, five minute walk from the busy town of Ambleside. Me, my husband and our two dogs, Dotty and Douglas stayed here on our 'minimoon'. The cottage was very well presented with lots of little added extras, milk in the fridge, a card from Lakeland Retreats with a bottle of Prosecco! Lots of information on the local area and places to see / eat. During our stay we went to Windermere, highly recommend getting a boat, the views on the lake were stunning. Rydal Caves, Grasmere, Keswick, completed Dodd Wood summit - well worth the drive and climb! The Royal Oak in Keswick was fantastic, delicious food and even had a menu for the dogs!! The cottage also had a log fire, perfect for sitting by after a long day of walking and warming your bones back up!! Overall a really lovely stay and we will definitely be back!!! Thanks so much Michelle x

Had a lovely stay at this cottage. It had everything we needed for our three nights away. The bed was comfy and the garden was ideal for sitting out in on a lovely sunny evening. Ambleside is around a 5 minute walk but walking back takes a bit longer as it’s up a steep hill. There’s a great pizza place down the road called sourdough pizza company, can’t recommend it enough. Also had a fab meal at the Priest Hole. Watersedge is a stroll away and has a great view of the lake for drinks, lovely food too. A taxi into Bowness was £15. We also made the trip into Ullswater and did a motorboat trip, also very good fun and not too far to drive, around 35 minutes. Would stay here again.

Apple tree cottage is cosy, well presented and ideally suited for a family of 4 and a pup. The secure garden is perfect for relaxation after a long days walk. The location of Apple tree is superb, 5minutes walk to the shops, restaurants and pubs. It was great to be able to go on long walks without using the car. Loughrigg fells and Wansfell pike all within easy access
