A MODERN, DETACHED RETREAT SET MIDWAY BETWEEN BOWNESS AND WINDERMERE

Perfectly placed within a short stroll of the popular resorts of both Windermere and Bowness, yet in absolute peace and quiet. Abbotsgarth Heights sits in a delightfully private cul-de-sac at the midway point between both towns. Slightly elevated above the road, commanding views of the surrounding fells and, when the leaves fall, Lake Windemere can be seen from the first floor.

Immaculately presented, the owners have a very keen eye for detail evidenced by sumptuous soft furnishings with splashes of colour against a neutral palette, both eye-catching and modern. A lounge and a quiet room/snug, both with colour TVs, ensure plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The property offers a fantastic base from where to explore the Lakes. Walks are plentiful and cater for hikers of all ages and abilities; from a gentle stroll up Orrest Head (the first of Alfred Wainwright’s inspirational walks) to the more challenging slopes of Wansfell. Whether you’re two couples or a smaller family, we’re certain you’ll have a wonderful break here at Abbotsgarth Heights, whatever time of year you choose to visit.

A lovely place to stay, tucked out of the way, that had eveything that we needed. Never slept so well on holiday! Ideal location if you just want to take it easy or go out and about.

Beautiful barn conversion in the heart of the lakes. Comfy beds, beautiful surroundings, hikes from the doorstep and Rydal water and great pub a short (if steep) wee walk away. Could only be improved with a few books and bit of info on the area and some games for rainy days. We had a wonderful relaxing time here, would love to go back some day.
