ENJOY PANORAMIC VIEWS OVER AMBLESIDE TOWARDS GLORIOUS LAKE WINDERMERE

From the car parking area, walk down a short flight of external stone steps and into the welcoming hallway. Ahead lies the open plan living space with the lounge area strategically placed in front of the warming gas fireplace and the TV. There’s a door leading out to a covered porch area, ideal for keeping your outdoor and wet weather gear. Across the room is the dining space with ample seating for you and a second, more relaxed seating area enjoying views out of the patio doors to the cottage garden. The modern kitchen has a useful breakfast bar and all the mod cons you require to properly self cater during your stay if you so wish. The washer/dryer and freezer are housed just off the hallway and next door to the useful cloakroom with handbasin and WC.

The open tread wooden staircase leads to the sleeping accommodation where you’ll find two bedrooms to the front, one kingsize and one twin, both blessed with fine lake and fell views. A third bedroom to the rear has a set of bunk beds, 2ft 6” wide, ideally suited to children. The modern house bathroom is fully tiled and comprises a shower over the bath, basin and WC.

Outside, the well-tended gardens are a mix of neat lawns and colourful, mature borders with a perfectly placed patio from where to sit and take in the lovely views. There’s also a covered veranda allowing you to take in the beautiful surroundings under cover. Parking is under the carport* for one car with further parking available on the roadside.

Please note : the property is unsuitable for children under the age of 5 years old due to the open tread staircase and low bannister rails.

*Width of car port is 310cm wide. Height at one side is 182cm high and 220cm high on the other due to this being a sloping site. The length is 490cm.

Gorgeus stay! The house is comfy and spacious and the garden so so beautiful! Above all, you can't beat the view! And the light entering from outside was amazing! I was a bit concerned as we booked last minute and the property looked so good in the pictures but it didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful week! The furnishings, the amenities everything was very good. There is even a BBQ outside which was very much appreciated considering the nice weather we had.

Fantastic stay at 2 Sweden Bank! Lovely views from bedrooms and lounge of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. House was comfortable and had everything we needed apart from a working toaster. Even though informed of this I didn't get a replacement before the end of our stay. However this was the only problem as everything else worked smoothly and was as described in the photos and descriptions. Nice patio area for BBQs. Could do with some hooks for coats! We did many walks right from our front door, no need to drive anywhere. It was a perfect location for us. Also walked into Ambleside a lot, for restaurants and to go to the bakery! Yum. Thank you for a comfortable stay!

The place spacious, well equipped and you can see the lake. We liked the clean and vintage design interior without losing its cosy character and the lovely garden. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic stay at 2 Sweden Bank, stunning location with gorgeous garden and amazing view. House was perfect for us - family of 5 - couldn’t ask for more. Excellent location for a wander into Ambleside for a meal or straight onto footpaths for walking. We’ll definitely be back!!

Beautiful house with great views. Brilliantly stocked kitchen, well organised and comfy living space, excellent shower and bath, great garden. And just up the road from the Golden Rule! Only thing to note is that there was no recycling facilities (other houses seemed to have some curb side recycling but nothing available here).

We had a really lovely week staying Ambleside, we felt central to all the lakes and enjoyed being based in Ambleside. The property is off the centre up a steep hill but this only added to they experience as the views were absolutely beautiful across Windermere. The property and garden is well maintained, well furnished and equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We traveled as a family of 6 with a 13 yr, 12 yr, 9yr and 4 month old, We had plenty of space for all of us and a lovely communal living area downstairs. We completely fell in love with Cumbria and hope to go back very soon and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here or another property managed by Lakeland Retreats again. Michelle and her team were a dream to communicate with and are truly interested in their visitors experiences.

We had a lovely week at Michelle’s property. The terrace overlooking the garden with views to Ambleside and the fells was a great place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sunshine.

Fantastic house, really light, spacious and clean, stunning views of Windermere and the surrounding hills and mountains. Very conveniently placed a few mins walk into the lovely town of Ambleside. Despite the weather we had a lovely time, took a walk with our three children to Galleny Force on a dry day, absolutely beautiful. Beatrix Potter's house is a great trip out on a rainy day. High recommend this lovely house.

I think we were very fortunate to get this accommodation, as it always seems fully booked. We now know why. Everything about this cottage was great. Great location, views, rooms and cleanliness. All communication with Lakeland Retreats was prompt and very friendly. Would highly recommend if you can get a booking.
